An exceptional property

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 hours ago

The pictures don’t lie—it’s an incredibly beautiful property, inside and out. But a few comments on less-visible factors. Pretty sure I’ve never stayed anywhere where Every. Single. Employee. I dealt with (4-day stay) was so genuinely pleasant, friendly and helpful. It speaks well for management and hiring, too—you can teach skills, but attitude is different. Good service, generally IME, comes from happy people, and the hospitality displayed here at every level was exceptional. And, it’s a historic property. The restoration and preservation is exceptional. I almost always stay at historic hotels, and sometimes you have to cut them a little slack. Not here. Things like water pressure, HVAC, electrical outlets, even physical space in bathroom, closets and room, were all great. The owners obviously care about the history and preserved the character in amazing detail—while still meeting high modern comfort standards. It’s a rare combination, and I’d think the whole community benefits from it. The grounds are stunning, and bigger than you may first think. So many little paths and walkways leading to beautiful plant displays. One thing to be aware of—which is really a plus for most people. It’s somewhat remote; you’re not going to just walk or drive a few blocks to get a snack or visit a shop. It’s more of a “trip.” That said, pretty much anything you may need is onsite. My one wish? That the restaurant offered some smaller breakfast choices. Everything is big!

We will be back!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

This is our first time to Tucson and thanks to this resort we will be coming back. Outstanding service and facilities! Great food. Plenty of sunshine. Time by the pool was just what the doctor ordered. Didn’t think to bring my clubs but there is a nice golf course close by.

One of the best hotels! I can't wait to go back! My husband and I wish we were there longer. Nothing but good things to say.

Comfortable, spacious room, beautiful surroundings, overpriced

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

#65 was a large spacious room on the second floor (27 steps) of a stand alone building on beautifully landscaped grounds. Good Wi-Fi and beautiful view from the balcony. Close to one of the pools but quite a distance from the parking lot. Huge bathroom with 2 vanity areas and big walk in shower. Would have preferred to have a wand shower in addition to the shower head. comfortable king sized bed. TV mounted 90 degrees to the bed so you could not watch TV in bed. Only one easy chair in the room to watch TV but 2 luggage racks. Likewise, very comfortable lounge chair on the deck but only one. Annoying $35 resort fee for bottled water, housecleaning, and valet service (never used) should have been included in the price of the room. Restaurants expensive, crowded and nothing special. Great restaurants for lower prices within 4 miles.

Best stay ever!

This is the most beautiful hidden gem! We were treated with such kindness and respect from everyone there! Their attentiveness to our needs was unmatched! We will definitely be back and may never stay at a hotel chain again. Was worth every cent!!
