Second stay - best place ever

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This is my second stay and I can’t believe that this resort has improved from ewhat was already a favorite. The people who work here are genuinly happy, the service is thoughtful and attentive, no tips (I love this, although I still tipped after they refused it), and the location is epic. In short, best vacation for the unpretentious, however not an affordable vacation for those who might be penny pinching. Come here and have some real fun and incredible food!

A Once In A Lifetime Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

There is a cliche' that "when the stars align, magic happens." Magic happened during a recent 12 person family trip we took to Paws up and the stars were the great staff. It is without question that Paws Up is expensive, but the service, experiences and lodging make it all worth it. Our family went on a 5 night trip this past April and stayed at the Timberland home. It is a little different to go in April because the glamping and Green O is closed, but there is a special opportunity to go when it is a little quieter. The magical experience started with Concierge Leanne who was extremely responsive, suggested a series of great events and wanted to make sure our special events were recognized. This included, but was not limited to, having special desserts for each of the evenings, or coordinating smores be ready in our home when we got there. She is truly amazing at her job!!! The dining services team was unreal. We started on Easter with an Easter brunch that was unreal. I had some trepidation that much of the staff was starting their first day on the job, or first day of the season when we got there, but you could not tell. Service team members, Michael, Peyton, Victor and Joe in Pomp paid attention to every detail and engaged all members (including six kids) of our team. Shawn was awesome during breakfast, lunch and at the bar, and Sonja made a magnificent huckleberry margarita. The team was led by Jake, Chase and Cameron who created a smores night by the fire, engaged us in discussion, shared their life journey and made everything so personal. Any location would be blessed to have them leading their teams in various respects, particularly Cameron who literally seemed as if his sole job was to make our family have every experience possible. Jackie and Sam on horseback riding along with Buddy, Cameron, Ethan, Gabe and others were unbelievable at all of the events we did. They engaged our kids on the activities, wanted to get those pictures to document everything and were acting as if we were the one and only people there. To make sure readers get substantive advice, let me recommend six things: 1) engage Leanne beforehand head her suggestions; 2) consider splitting time between glamping and the residences if you can do that; 3) give yourself half-days off and don't book events each and every day. Take some time for hiking or enjoy time; 4) the spa was very good, but during the winter when the spa is closed, it is a much more subdued experience in a different house and not is what you see on the website; 5) if the weather is great, take pictures then and there. Our weather turned towards the end and we wished we took more pictures when we had the shot; 6) if you can, spend a few days in Missoula beforehand and go up to Flathead or down to one of the small charming towns. So worth it! All and all, I cannot emphasize more how amazing the staff was and how they make the cost worth it. We celebrated a 50th anniversary, 10th anniversary, 70th birthday and 40th birthday amongst our families and can't wait for the next time. Thank you to all the staff for an amazing week!

Christmas came early for the Willett Family

An unforgettable experience.......Our trip of a lifetime started with an engaging ride to the property from Missoula, where our driver was a friendly local who was very knowledgeable and engaging. After entering our luxurious Big Timber home we were greeted by a plate of fresh baked cookies and a hand written note from the EXECUTIVE CHEF (thank you Mr. Jin). From that moment on, until our departure, no detail was overlooked and no request went unfulfilled the entire week. As self proclaimed foodies, the thought cuisine was unparalleled, with each daily menu being a culinary adventure with the perfect amount of variety. Although it was incredibly sumptuous table fare of an extremely upscale nature, it remained very approachable, even for the children in our party. The dining staff provided the perfect amount of attention, was overly kind and a pleasure to engage with. Lisa & Amy started our days off right with breakfast at the Trough and Jake & Shawn made sure our evening cocktails and victuals were unforgettable. Chef Jin and Ben and the rest of the Kitchen staff prepared each steak to perfection and the pastry Chef also definitely deserves a nod. I'd like to specifically note an excursion of true "Unreasonable Hospitality". Brian and Greg from the Glamping department pulled out all the stops when they prepared a truly unforgettable experience for my mother with limited mobility. We will always remember enjoying cocoa and hot toddies while perched high above the legendary Blackfoot River, wrapped up in cozy blankets while sitting under heat lamps and singing Christmas carols together. This was made all the better when we returned to our home only to find individually wrapped gifts for all in our party and a freshly cut Christmas tree and a box full of ornaments for our little girls to decorate with. This is the epitome of "Unreasonable Hospitality". The week after we left was the actual Christmas holiday and best present of all was a family portrait, in a PAWS UP RANCH frame, given to my mother, to forever commemorate this once in a lifetime experience. Thank you for giving our family unforgettable memories to forever cherish. BRAVO!!! - The Willett Family

Two Enthusiastic Paws Up!!!

My husband and I are avid travelers, having been to at this moment, 67 countries, seeking for the best luxury properties and experiences worldwide. We had read about The Resort at Paws Up years back but truthfully at that time, the reviews were inconsistent, fluctuating between superb to poor value. Flash forward four years later, in search of a new experience to celebrate our son’s 4th birthday, I suddenly remembered that we hadn’t yet experienced the glamping tents of The Resort at Paws Up. A quick search on the internet for reviews, from those on Tripadvisor to those on Andrew Harper revealed a slew of very positive reviews. The reservationist I contacted was very helpful. After expressing our desire to stay in the unique glamping tent and our love of stunning views, she helped us decide on the Cliffside Camp. The tent is gorgeous and looks exactly as it does in photos, possibly even better in person. We loved the attention to detail in the tent: the western decor, the chandelier, the comfortable bed linens, the a/c unit, and the heated floors. The Cliffside Camp Pavilion is more modern in appearance (compared to the Riverside camp which is more rustic) but since this is more in line with our type of aesthetic, we were quite pleased that we chose Cliffside Camp. We dined at Tank, Trough, and Cliffside Pavilion and were pleased with all of the food and drink offerings. A special shout out to the breakfast chef at Cliffside, his pancakes were absolutely life changing! Even my picky son consumed them with gusto! What really sets this property apart from the several glamping places we have already been to (at the time of writing this article we had already experienced the US glamping sites of Ventana Big Sur, Dunton Hot Springs, Triple Creek Ranch) is not only their ULTRA luxurious tents, their gift shop (one of the best in all of the west), but also their exceptional personalized service. Our son loved his birthday cake which was brought out on our last evening. Brian the resort manager even stopped by the morning of check out to gift our son with beautiful toys which our son loved. In addition, they sent back our earbuds STAT once they realized we had left them behind after checkout. From luxurious lodgings, to excellent cuisine, to plethora of activities for parents and children, The Resort at Paws Up REALLY has it all. For this reason, there is no doubt that we will be returning. Thank you Brian for an absolutely fabulous stay!!! We give The Resort at Paws Up Two Enthusiastic Paws Up!!

Last Best Place

Our recent stay at The Green-O at Paws Up Resort in Montana was nothing short of magical–an enchanting retreat that exceeded all expectations. From the breathtaking landscapes to the incomparable staff on the Paw’s Up property, every aspect of our experience was simply extraordinary. The excursion activities led by the fantastic Paw’s Up team—Lexi, Buddy, Call, and Zoe to name a few—were the highlight of our trip. Their knowledge of Montana's beauty was unparalleled, and their passion for sharing it with us was infectious. Patient, thoughtful, encouraging, and FUNNY, they opened our eyes to the wonders of Montana, turning each excursion into a journey of discovery. Whether it was a breathtaking horseback ride, dusting clays, or ripping UTV’s through the backcountry, their guidance made every moment memorable. The staff at the SocialHaus, including Jimmi, Bella, Noelle, Amy, and the talented Chef Brandon, elevated our dining experience to new heights. The meals prepared were not just delicious; they were culinary masterpieces. The dessert’s that followed these savory meals were decadent, tasty, and insatiable, as we often found ourselves discussing whether we were able to request seconds! In any case, the warmth and attentiveness of the SocialHaus team added an extra layer of joy to our dining experience. Our visit coincided with a special occasion–a very festive 50th birthday celebration–and we were genuinely touched by the thoughtful decorations and the effort put into making it a memorable event. The Green-O team went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect, creating an atmosphere of celebration that will be etched in our memory forever. The impact of our stay at The Green-O went far beyond the picturesque Montana scenery. It allowed for valuable family time, fostering a sense of connection and joy that is rare to find. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone at The Green-O. Your dedication to excellence has set a new standard for any future family vacations! Without a doubt, we will be returning for another enchanting escape. This was not just a trip; it was a core memory that will be cherished forever. The Green-O at Paw’s Up resort truly is the last best place.
