GROUNDS/HOTEL - Gorgeous property and surrounding area. Nature trails for a morning walk take you right to the garden where the majority of their produce comes from. I was a little underwhelmed with the "lake." It was small, manmade(?), and power lines were visible atop the treeline. There were a few dead trees. I was expecting a lusher landscape and an overall larger lake. Nevertheless, the dock had about six or so comfy Adirondack chairs to lounge on and take an afternoon nap. The hotel itself is decorated luxuriously with wooden, natural decor, and furnishings. Top notch. ROOM - Wonderful. Comfy beds and every amenity that you need. Room 319 faces the forest towards the lake. FOOD - Consistently fantastic! Every meal was a dream. Sustenance for both the weight-conscious and gluttonous alike 😊 SPA - Amazing treatments including the tension tamer with Kathy and deep relief massages with Michele. The facility and overall "feel" of the spa left a few things to be desired. To me, a delectable spa experience should excel in the overall layout and lighting of the facility. The lockers, waiting areas, steam room, pool, and sauna all seemed really cramped to me, which made it difficult just to unwind since there were a lot of loud/chatty guests. It was a layout more akin to a health club than a spa. I would have liked to see everything more spread out with nooks and crannies to explore to encourage a more restful atmosphere. Also, the lighting was too bright. A flourescent box light in the steam room? Come on. I also didnt like that the guests were incredibly chatty/loud, but I understand that guest behavior can only be enforced so much by staff. The staff was great, however the overall pace and voice volume of the spa could be modeled by the employees by speaking in lower volumes, and not hurrying to and fro. Lastly, I would have appreciated the option to be served lunch outside next to the pool rather than having to walk to the restaurant in my spa bathrobe to pick up something quick. Other spa guests did it, too. I just wasnt a fan. SERVICE/STAFF - Excellent. Anything I asked for I received immediately, and with a smile.

We checked in on Friday afternoon and checked out on Sunday. I thought the service was excellent from the front desk, spa, maid/room service, dining staff, valet, and entire staff. The entire resort was well maintained and very clean throughout. The rooms were very comfortable with large flat screen HDTV's, refrigerator, outdoor patio with chairs, temperature controlled rooms, double sinks, etc. The dining service was attentive, courteous and friendly and the meals were excellent with lots of healthy choices and variety to choose from. I thought the dining service was as good or better than most fine dining restaurants. I also loved the fact that there is a lounge with excellent tea and refreshments throughout the day. Perfect place for a weekend getaway. Only 2 hours from NYC.

We enjoyed 3 days (NOT enough) at the Lodge - everything was top-notch, elegant, and fabulously though out. The food choices at each meal were abundant and beautifully prepared. The building, rooms, and grounds are stunning. The extra delight was that each employee seemed naturally happy to have us there. What a true find. We'll be back!

Exceeded our expectations on every count. Beautiful rooms and property. Superb service. Great spa treatments. My wife had her best massage ever. And amazing food. This can't all happen by coincidence. They simply must have great people and great management. Great job.

I was here for an event, the place was clean and nice looking. The staff seemed to have things under control and all tables were covered with servers, the food was good for a sit down banquet style. Not a bad venue to hold a large event.
