My friend and I (both married gals in our fifties) spent 4 days and 3 nights at The Lodge at Woodloch. It was all amazing! From the room, to the dining, to the property, to the spa and all day long classes, we were happily busy enjoying ourselves. I can't say enough good things about this meticulously maintained and managed property.

This place is about 25 minutes from interstate 84. It is in a beautiful woodsy area and is a little bit off the beaten path. This place offers a number of fitness classes everyday. You can attend as many classes as you want. There is also a paved trail you can walk around in the back of the building. The spa area has a few jacuzzis, a pool and a few shower rooms. They also offer spa services such as facials and massages. When you go to book a room on their website, you will notice there are options for including spa services and paying for them "as you go". When you book a room, you will notice that there is an additional 18% gratuity charged per night. This is for the service to your meals, room and car valet. The fitness classes are great. They have typical classes you would have at any normal gym plus special classes such as the Great Wall of Yoga and Drums Alive that are challenging, but fun. I did not take the special fitness classes but I spoke to others that said they were awesome. Some classes you have to sign up for ahead of time. The food is unbelievable especially the dinners. They have four courses. You also don't have to worry if you get hungry in between meals. They provide snacks in the fitness lounge and in the lounge across from the restaurant, Tree. You also have to try the "Sport Tea." The bed was okay for me to sleep in. I may have also took too many fitness classes during my stay which allowed me not to sleep that well. The price for staying here is expensive, but if you come here during the week, you will get a discount. It is not a huge discount, but a discount nonetheless. Despite that, I would still recommend coming here. It is a great place.

My Friend and I only take the day pass, that means we can make use of the hot springs, the sauna, and the landscapes around, we live in NYC so we are at 3.30 hr from there. It's not the first time we do this, because living and working in NYC is sometimes very stressful, this time we not only enjoyed the swimming pools and the saunas, we also had dinner at the restaurant, everything was excellent, the food gourmet, the service and the cost, which I think is very fair to enjoy this place, we are thinking of returning but this time we plan to stay at night.

Just spent 2 glorious days at Woodloch Spa. This resort is amazing and although quite expensive, the amenities offered free of charge warrant the price. I will list these amenities in a minute because having traveled to other spas, these stood out and made a positive difference. However, although I'm not one to gripe over price and I totally enjoyed this blow-your-mind experience, there is something I feel the organization should improve. These 3 minor points may seem trivial to some but worth mentioning IMO. (1) Checking out: I prefer the bill to be slipped under the door the night before in order to go over what extra charges, if any, I may have incurred during my stay. This allows me to call from the privacy of my own room with any questions. (2) If you're offering your guests access to any services prior to check in or after check out, such as the Tree Restaurant, mention that there may be an extra charge. My only disappointment for the weekend was the expectation this would be included. I was raving to my spouse how wonderful it was that this was an inclusive offer only to discover at check out that it was not. Understand, it wasn't the $ amount but rather the disappointed expectation. (3) This is stated throughout the brochures: "For your convenience an 18% service charge is automatically added to all spa packages, services, consultations and alcoholic beverages. Additional gratuities are not necessary or expected." This wording suggested, to me, that the 18% service charge was "already" present in the listed amount. It is not and again, that added expense was understandable but confusing. Just not clear IMO. So my $140 facial was not $140 but actually $165.20. Again, it's not the $ but rather the confusion in what I expected. now the amenities. Major Kudos to the no one allowed under 16 yrs. of age. I love children but I work all day with them. I don't want to hear or be any where near them at a spa. The no tipping policy eliminates the worry and anxiety of who do I tip, how much do I tip, when do I tip. LOVED that the onus was taken off my shoulders. It made the stay even more relaxing. On check in and check out: having your bags brought to the room at check in when your room was ready and picked up at check out was an added carefree luxury. At either time, you do not have to be present. I was able to schedule a massage at 11:00 the day I left and they took care of the bags for check out at 12:00. We had lunch and then left. Delightful. The spa was wonderful and did not disappoint. The eucalyptus steam room, (the best I've ever been in), the sauna (again the best), the waterfall hot tub (so nice), pool, and woman's locker room were incredibly well appointed and impressively clean. This was as equally impressive to the 4 Seasons spa in Scottsdale which is one of my favorite spas. However at Woodloch, you really don't need to bring a thing to shower after a class but the robe on your back. All the necessary toiletries are provided including your own hall of private shower rooms. The fact that you could show up in your robe at breakfast and lunch was a giggle and well appreciated. No one looks at you like you're crazy. Partly because you're all floating on cloud nine from the massage, facial or yoga class you just completed. The food was interesting and delicious. I'm a big fan of farm to table. My husband, not so much. But I was in heaven. There are choices for all walks. I intended recently to stay away from meat and the vegetarian choices were deliciously wonderful. The grounds are beautiful. The fire pit is a great way to converse campfire style with other guests. I want to go back when there will be more to experience on the lake but just sitting on the dock was an experience that should not be missed. The quiet is serene and spiritual. I thought: this is what heaven must feel like. The endless choice of classes was impressive. I cannot get over this service. I heard there are classes that are offered in the spring & summer that I have to go back and try. Alaine, the medium, was impressive. Do not miss this experience if she's at the facility. Her class was an unexpected delight. She has an amazing gift. The yoga classes were wonderful and Gerard's cooking class was delicious and we so very much enjoyed his story telling. I could go on forever. This place is an experience to try at least once before you die. I hope to revisit in each season. The sooner, the better.

I came here with my boyfriend for two nights mid week to celebrate my birthday. When we booked it we thought it was a little pricey but thought we would splurge since it was my birthday. Once we got there we realized that you absolutely get what you pay for. From the second you drive up the service and experience is flawless. Three delicious meals and tip are included in the nightly rate so that right there will justify the price but it goes way beyond that. The rooms are so comfortable and spotless. They have so many different classes and events going on all day and all but a few are complimentary. The spa and pool area is beautiful and so relaxing. I had the best facial I've ever had from face and pores have never looked better. The nutrition classes with Talia are very informative and motivating. I honestly didn't want to leave!! We were checking out on Friday and I have to say there were a lot of people checking in and it seemed to be getting a little crowded. I would definitely recommend going during the week if you can....just the right amount of people. I also loved how relaxed and casual the atmosphere was. For breakfast and lunch you may even see people coming to the dining room in their robes and slippers. Dinner was a little more formal but still very casual and comfortable. I cannot wait to go back, I miss it already :-)
