I won this mini getaway from Rachael Ray being on her show and it is all she said. What a beautiful experience. I took my 25 year old daughter and we had the best 3 days. It was all inclusive didn't have to worry about our wallet. The spa and massages are amazing. The classes we took couldn't have been more fun. There is a minimal charge for some of the classes so just check. I am thankful that Rachael Ray gave me this. Although I am not sure I would pay 3000.00 for 2 nights/3days but as a free trip it was awesome.

The Lodge at Woodloch is an amazing all-inclusive facility, from the pleasing, rustic decor, the plethora of activities, and delicious cuisine to the incomparably warm, encouraging and knowledgeable staff. We cannot wait to return! We arrived at the gate and were warmly greeted, setting the tone for the rest of our stay. After pulling up under the attractive portico, informative valets already knew to which room we were assigned and made sure to tell us about some of the interesting features we would discover inside. Front desk staff had our packet and welcome gifts (tote bag and water bottle) ready for us and although our room was not yet ready, they made sure to direct us to the beautiful spa so that we could begin our spa experience. The tour of the spa commenced and it was clear that guests would lack for nothing. The spa was well appointed, from the plush robes to the refreshments/snacks in the waiting area; The indoor pool was inviting as were the various hot tubs, sauna, and steam room. Outside, a small bar area overlooked the outdoor infinity spa and pool. Suntan lotions were available for guests' use. We partook of facials and massages and our estheticians and massage therapists knew their stuff as we were well-pampered! On our first night, we took in the musical review and comedian's show at the Woodloch family resort nearby. The resort provided a shuttle for guests making it easy to get around without knowing the area. Upon arrival, a DJ entertained guests for about 45 minutes. Kids and adults alike were grooving to the tunes as service staff filled drink orders. The musical was produced well. Performers were talented, musical numbers were well chosen, and the production values (sets, lighting) were high. The comic talent was very good and both acts were entertaining for people of all ages. We took many classes during our 2 1/2 day visit. Some highlights included the core fusion and "hanging at the barre" classes, a cooking demo in which we learned to make an outrageous potato onion soup, various meditation courses, and an off-property 2-mile hike along the Minisink Trail (bug spray provided). Each staff member was clearly an expert in his/her field. Between classes, we either relaxed at the spa or enjoyed walking the various trail loops meandering throughout the property. Cuisine was delicious in "The Tree," the singular restaurant at the hotel. Breakfast and lunch provided a simple yet inviting buffet along with about 10 menu entrees. Dinner, which requires a reservation that should be made in advance of guests' arrival, offers diners a 4-course meal. Menus change with the seasons. Attire during the day is quite casual as it is perfectly ok to dine wearing one's spa robe or workout clothing. At dinner, resort casual dress is expected. A very nice touch is the singular musician who performs in the sitting area adjacent to the dining room; the mellow tunes of James Taylor and other like music enhances the dining experience. For those choosing to dine a la carte (off premise), the musician provides a nice relaxing pre/post dining experience. Another musician plays outside at the firepit. We did not spend much time in our well-appointed guest room but when we were there, we were often drawn to our patio as the waterfall feature at the pond outside our side of the building was quite soothing and almost hypnotic. We had 2 criticisms for this resort: 1) the towels provided in the guest rooms were a little small for the average sized person. A larger individual would definitely not be able to wrap themselves completely. Remedy this by asking for bath sheets in your room when you call the concierge to make spa appointments and dinner reservations in advance of your stay. 2) we wanted very much to enjoy the archery range but the times for this activity during our stay conflicted with the dinner hour. If guests partake in classes in the latter part of the afternoon, there doesn't seem to be a way to shower and dine and still have time to go to the range. (Our first night, based on our chosen evening activity, we had to dine from 6-7:30 so we could not go to the range, and on our next night, the activity was only offered from 7-8 but our dinner reservation was at 6:45.) If the resort could extend the archery offering to about 9pm. guests would be able to enjoy fitness and meditation activities, have time to shower and dine, and still engage in this activity. This gem of a spa resort is between 90-120 min from New York City. It is a pleasant drive. We will definitely return to The Lodge at Woodloch.

Did the 2 night mother/daughter stay. It was truly wonderful! The spa is delightful, the staff is attentive without being over-bearing. The food was exceptional, and the attention to detail was obvious. Some fitness classes were better than others, but it sometimes depends on the instructors. Did a couple of art classes with Debra. She is talented, pleasant, funny and interested in making the guests feel comfortable and accomplished.

I have known from past experiences that just because you pay a lot of money on a hotel or resort doesn't necessarily mean that you will get the service and amenities that would justify the pricing Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised that I actually got what I paid for at the Lodge at Woodloch, especially the exceptional service. My husband and I usually travel to the Carribbean/Mexico because it seems that there was more of a sense of customer service there than at places in the U.S. But at the Lodge every one was customer-service oriented, including anticipating our needs or concerns and actually taking initiative. I also like the idea of not having to worry about parking or baggage because they have valet parking and your baggage is on its way to your room without you thinking about it. I liked how almost everything was all-inclusive which made the stay even more relaxing and stress-free. The food was top notch. My husband and I are "locals" from the Poconos and we know a lot of the clientele are from. NY, NJ and other places so the Lodge must have food that will satisfy a gourmand from Manhattan and elsewhere. And I believe they do. They also have an extensive wine list for a place in the middle of the woods. The location is peaceful and beautiful. We chose to take a hike and also go on a bird-watching walk. In addition, we took a primitive fire-making class. All were enjoyable. We saved the best for last and booked a spa appointment on the last day we were there. I booked the deep forest ritual and it was very relaxing and rejuvenating. There is almost nothing negative to talk about. I can only think of two tiny things. First, there are no lights in the separate section of the commode of the bathroom but if you keep the door open in the bathroom you can see. Also, I'm glad I brought a shawl because the hallways were quite cold due to the cold air conditioning. But, overall, this place is top notch and I would highly recommend it.

I can't say enough great things about the Lodge at Woodloch! From the moment we entered the building, we were greeted with a friendly smile and treated as if we were their number one priority. The facility is immaculate. The bed was extremely comfortable. I loved the idea that you can walk around in your bathrobe for breakfast or lunch. It was so cozy. The various options of spa treatments was so helpful. They offer all types that will satisfied any one of your needs. The exercise classes were great. Drums alive was the best! Cindy, our instructor lead the class with such enthusiasm, you never felt like you were working as hard as you were. The food was incredible, each meal was prepared so carefully. The portion sizes were perfect. You felt satisfied but never stuffed. Just the right amount. You could even order an extra platter if you can't decide which selection you wanted to eat. The staff that lead the activities were professional and experts in their field. The art classes and cooking classes were so much fun. We also took a "Forrest Bathing" class. After taking the class we had such an appreciation for the many natural elements around us. Everyone was so friendly, including the other guests staying in the lodge. It made for such an enjoyable stay. Right before we were ready to leave, we met the owner of the facility. It was so thoughtful of him to stop and take the time to speak to myself and my friends. He wanted to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and were satisfied with our stay. Because it it a family run business the personal care and attention is so highly valued and respected. If you are looking for a great spa getaway, this is definitely the place to go!!
