I have known from past experiences that just because you pay a lot of money on a hotel or resort doesn't necessarily mean that you will get the service and amenities that would justify the pricing Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised that I actually got what I paid for at the Lodge at Woodloch, especially the exceptional service. My husband and I usually travel to the Carribbean/Mexico because it seems that there was more of a sense of customer service there than at places in the U.S. But at the Lodge every one was customer-service oriented, including anticipating our needs or concerns and actually taking initiative. I also like the idea of not having to worry about parking or baggage because they have valet parking and your baggage is on its way to your room without you thinking about it. I liked how almost everything was all-inclusive which made the stay even more relaxing and stress-free. The food was top notch. My husband and I are "locals" from the Poconos and we know a lot of the clientele are from. NY, NJ and other places so the Lodge must have food that will satisfy a gourmand from Manhattan and elsewhere. And I believe they do. They also have an extensive wine list for a place in the middle of the woods. The location is peaceful and beautiful. We chose to take a hike and also go on a bird-watching walk. In addition, we took a primitive fire-making class. All were enjoyable. We saved the best for last and booked a spa appointment on the last day we were there. I booked the deep forest ritual and it was very relaxing and rejuvenating. There is almost nothing negative to talk about. I can only think of two tiny things. First, there are no lights in the separate section of the commode of the bathroom but if you keep the door open in the bathroom you can see. Also, I'm glad I brought a shawl because the hallways were quite cold due to the cold air conditioning. But, overall, this place is top notch and I would highly recommend it.

I can't say enough great things about the Lodge at Woodloch! From the moment we entered the building, we were greeted with a friendly smile and treated as if we were their number one priority. The facility is immaculate. The bed was extremely comfortable. I loved the idea that you can walk around in your bathrobe for breakfast or lunch. It was so cozy. The various options of spa treatments was so helpful. They offer all types that will satisfied any one of your needs. The exercise classes were great. Drums alive was the best! Cindy, our instructor lead the class with such enthusiasm, you never felt like you were working as hard as you were. The food was incredible, each meal was prepared so carefully. The portion sizes were perfect. You felt satisfied but never stuffed. Just the right amount. You could even order an extra platter if you can't decide which selection you wanted to eat. The staff that lead the activities were professional and experts in their field. The art classes and cooking classes were so much fun. We also took a "Forrest Bathing" class. After taking the class we had such an appreciation for the many natural elements around us. Everyone was so friendly, including the other guests staying in the lodge. It made for such an enjoyable stay. Right before we were ready to leave, we met the owner of the facility. It was so thoughtful of him to stop and take the time to speak to myself and my friends. He wanted to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and were satisfied with our stay. Because it it a family run business the personal care and attention is so highly valued and respected. If you are looking for a great spa getaway, this is definitely the place to go!!

I don't know why it's taken me 5 stays to finally review this amazing property. There are so many highlights that I'll focus this review on two categories. Tree Restaurant: Dining here is always a treat, the food is always great and if you don't love something it's never any trouble to try something else instead. The restaurant is very allergy friendly and has each meal labeled so you can find something without dairy or nuts or even vegan at each meal. The servers are fantastic. We loved meeting Lindsay and Gene this trip and its always a pleasure to see Lara and John. Everyone hear can't do enough to make sure your meal is a pleasant one. Activities: I think it would be impossible to come here and not find something to do. There is something for everyone and every fitness level. From art classes, an outdoor activity center with everything from archery, to paddle boarding and kayaking, hikes, fitness classes with with everything from dance, cardio, yoga, barre strength training and napping! I wish I knew the fitness instructors names because they were all fantastic, we particularly enjoyed Shockwave, Hanging at the Barre, Spin and Up in Arms plus core. The cliff park hike was also beautiful. Thanks to Jordan who we always look forward to seeing! Besides the great restaurant and activities the spa is one of my favorites in the country. Maybe I'll write more about this next time :). Thanks to Sheree for my wonderful massage. There are places you go that can be hit or miss, I've been to places where we have a great stay one time and then don't the next, but the Lodge at Woodloch has never disappointed. Until next time!

Went here for a 4 day R&R and it turned out better than we had expected. Great place to enjoy a really excellent spa facility, great food, quiet, friendly place. Clean. Rooms were outstanding and very well appointed. Service staff are excellent and attentive to your every need. Classes were an excellent way to learn and improve your life with many different topics covered. We will be returning for sure.
