We are lucky enough to get to go to Jackson a couple times a year and try to stay at a different place each time for fun. Jackson has some amazing places to stay and to eat, pretty hard to find a bad one really because they have to be good or they wont last. Well, this place was a let down. The views are truly amazing and I think there was a time when this place was probably great but that day has come and gone. The cabin we stayed in was very used to be kind. We went to the restaurant for lunch and had dinner reservations for the same evening because we just wanted to relax and stay on property for the day. We had spa treatments in the morning and then ate lunch. Both were disappointing, so much that we cancelled our dinner reservations. So many great options in Jackson this currently isn't one of them unfortunately.

Yes, the rooms are a bit outdated, but quite honestly we didn't mind this time. They were high quality and clean and the bed was comfy with new duvet etc. yes, the leather couch was worn etc, but how many rooms have a leather couch? Our view was stunning and we LOVED having a big real wood fire every night. The rooms have a living room, dining room, full kitchen. I would suggest having liquid creamer - only cheap hotels have little powder packets these days. The bar and restaurant have a fabulous view as well. We thought the drinks were pricey and quality inconsistent depending on the bartender, but wow what a view. There was a mix up with our dinner reservation as well. We felt we were very understanding and flexible, but the manager there seemed very unconcerned with customer satisfaction. The food was good, but pricey. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Spring Ranch.

After driving up from SLC the four of us were sort of welcomed at reception, we had pre booked various activities including horse riding but the young man who sorted our booking in was not exactly welcoming, he appeared to be bored and did not really want to speak unless absolutely essential. After finding our chalet which was ok but apart from the new fitted carpet was very tired, we found the following, our view wasn't very good compared with some of the other chalets! As many of the other chalets were empty I'm not sure why we couldn't be booked into one of these? We thought we had booked a 2 bedrooms chalet but it was a 1 bedroom with the living area converted into a makeshift second bedroom. The microwave which was the kitchen! Had been moved into the bathroom to make space! I was really looking forward to this part of our holiday but it just turned out to be ok! The first evening we ate at the Granary restaurant which has fantastic views but these are certainly paid for in the cost of the meal! I would not recommend the Granary! The staff on this evening were quite rude and the young blonde haired chap who chased me round for payment who would not allow me to walk into the bar area to my friends for a night cap until I had paid the bill went a good way to ruining the evening! Breakfast's were much better except on the final morning when a older gentleman again seemed not to want to be serving in the restaurant and after many many times of trying actually replied! Special note goes to the guy from Illinois who took our party on our two hour horse ride he was great and along with the young girl who worked at the bar next to the outside pool and the singer at the barbecue who was also friendly and happy with fantastic customer service, the customer service was very poor and it appeared that most did not enjoy working at the ranch! Overall with exception to the three persons I have mentioned the customer service was poor. The chalet was ok but tired. The barbecue and horse riding experiences were great although once again the barbecue staff were very miserable! On the plus side the setting of the ranch is gorgeous! Get your staff some customer service and wow see the change in customer reviews!

Please pay attention to all the negative reviews. There are many reasons for them. This was probably a fine resort when my 40 year old son was born. But I seriously doubt if the rooms have been refurbished since then. The first room had a beautiful view overlooking the valley below, but the smell of smoke from the fireplace permeated the room. We asked for another. It was on a scum covered pond, but at least we could breath. On checkout, I asked for the manager who wasn't in yet. So I left a list of 16 repair or cleanliness issues we found in our room and requested a phone call from him. Still waiting, but they promptly charged my credit card for the additional $20 daily "resort fee" for my stay. As for the positives, the bed was comfortable and the internet worked fine. I didn't use it, but the pool looked inviting. Overall, this was my most disappointing hotel stay. I was expecting a high end resort, but this doesn't come close.

We came here In the 1990s and were lucky enough to return here in 2017. At this point, the rooms and cabins are outdated, but the view is unbeatable. We had a wrap around porch with a panoramic view of the tetons. Service wasn't great - we asked for several items from the front desk (to have someone come fix the wifi and also for someone to bring some ice) and they assured us someone would come right away, but no one ever came. The property is amazing and worth walking around. You can also walk on the horse trail at the top of the butte AFTER hours when the horses are done for the day which gives you some of the most amazing views. Drive up to the top of the butte, park where you see the horse crossing sign and head out!
