The lodge at Pico Bonito was great as a place to stay. The staff was really nice especially the waiters. The food is really good (a bit pricey) but you won't be disappointed with quality. Facilities are really nice and relaxing. The only bad thing I have to say is if you are going to LA Ceiba to raft on the Cangrejal, Zipline, hotsprings, or go to Pico Bonito National Park, be ready to travel about an hour and a half each way just to get to those locations. Great for birdwatching I heard. Fun little snake and butterfly exhibits.

We had an incredible time there and would love to return! It was a perfect family getaway. We were very well taken care of by the staff and our meals were healthy and wonderful. They accommodated vegetarian diets very well and were always very helpful. We recommend taking them up on the hotel tour options.

The drive up to the hotel is beautiful. My wife and daughter loved exploring the grounds once we arrived. The room was beautiful. The staff was attentive. The food and drinks were fantastic. We live in Roatan. We can't wait to return to pico bonito. Thank you guys for everything!

We spent one night (almost two full days) enjoying the birds, flora and fauna here. We had 2 weeks in Roatan and wanted to see if we would want to come back for longer time in the future. We will definitely return. From the greeting by the general manager with a delicious punch when we arrived, to our fresh and spectacular ceviche served in a cocoa pod before we left after lunch, everything was perfect. Our superior cabin was large and luxurious and tucked along a path, so that you felt if you were alone. The pool was wonderful and all meals and drinks sensational from the dinner of fettuccine alfredo, coffee and chili encrusted tenderloin medallions to tropical punches served in decorated pineapples. But the thing that topped everything was the early morning birding with Joel where we saw many gorgeous birds and some ugly birds (you know it Great Potoo). We are sure to return soon.

A birdwatchers holiday can be hard work, up early and on the go every day, hiking trails, climbing towers and occasionally swatting bugs.....we did it all, in luxury! Our guides made sure we saw the birds and some other wildlife. The food was great and plentiful...staff very obliging if the menu did not seem right some days with a simple alternative. The garden is full of trees and shrubs that attract birds and butterflies so there is always some action, from your balcony or the dining room. Photographers will have a great time. And we even did a night walk to see the tree frogs and other night creatures. No time for the Spa! We had several bus rides to other diverse habitats and sites during our 6 days, always something new to see. This was our first stay at a small luxury hotel, we were well looked after and will consider a return visit some day. We also enjoyed a visit to the local Art Centre to see the many students at work, an intergenerational school!
