This place is wonderful. The Lodge had everything: excellent service, a quiet environment, TONS of nature activities (you’ll see monkeys!), and the spa experience was incredible; I expected a routine massage but it ended up being top rate. The food is spectactular as well. If you’re looking for a place to get away and experience nature in an environmentally friendly manner, while enjoying the comforts of a luxury hotel, the Lodge is the place you’re looking for. I will certainly return to the Lodge - and, hopefully, bring a few friends along.

Nestled in the foothills of the Pico Bonito rainforest reserve is the Lodge and Spa at Pico Bonito. The lodge and their staff have anticipated all the needs and activities for the typical eco-tourist. From birding to night hikes in the rainforest to see reptiles and Amphibians, insects mammals, birds and other fauna, to Whitewater rafting and trips to Mayan ruins. The Lodge is a great base station for that special rainforest adventure.

This comes down to a matter of perspective of course, but if you are looking for a peaceful place surrounded by nature where there is not much going on at all, where days can be spent either hiking the rainforest, lounging by the pool, enjoying spa treatment with a twist of history or munching on gorgeously presented cuisine, then you've hit the jackpot with this gem. Bearing in mind of course you get what you pay for, accommodation may be affordable but the price adds up when meals, drinks and spa treatments are included. My husband, 10 month old and I had an absolutely delightful trip. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the layout very rustic and private to feel like you had all of nature to yourself. The hiking trails are right on the property which means you never feel the external environment of Honduras which has been rated quite unsafe. You can book tours and have shuttle service to and from the airport included in the price of your room booking. Of course bring lots of mosquito repellent for your outdoor adventures and kick back and enjoy nature! Highly recommended - we will certainly be returning but probably in the cooler months of the year!

Perfect place to really escape. You can connect to the internet at the main lodge if it's really urgent but once you get to your cabin you're forced to disconnect. The hikes around the lodge are spectacular and could have spent days exploring the river. Crystal clear waters and natural pools and eddies to explore just a few steps away from the lodge. It's also a perfect setting for a staff retreat or workshop and I hope to have the chance to have one there someday. Prices are a bit steep but it's worth it and definitely comes recommended. Great hospitality too! If you're lucky you may get to see Howler monkeys (unfortunate for me I didn't get to see them so yet another reason to return). The myriad of hummingbirds at every corner only adds to the ambiance. If you have a weekend or even longer be sure to prioritize getting there...I'm often in Honduras and will encourage friends and visitors to spend some time here.

We visited for a 3 day mini vacation, we wish we could have stayed much longer. The Food was fantastic. We looked forward to every meal. The hikes and rivers were amazing. We went each day to the river to swim and relax. The cabins are very comfortable and sleeping with the sounds of the river nearby was very relaxing. Loved it!
