I rented a 3 bedroom suite for myself and 4 grandchildren June 3-4. The master suite and the two upstairs bathrooms were lovely! However, twice, housekeepers came in unannounced...once while I was napping...imagine my surprise to waken and hear voices in the bathroom! I asked them to please not come back, I would call if I needed anything. We ordered room service and it was ok, but very pricey. The salad consisted of lettuce, 2 grape tomatoes, 2 cucumbers and crutons. The chocolate chip cookies they leave at the bedside is a nice touch. And they do offer free coffee in the mornings, and free tea and cookies in the eve, but, bring your own tea bag because the selection is extremely limited. Valet service is slow and the self-parking is very limited. The pool is much smaller than show on the website. The grounds were lovely and well-kept. The kids enjoyed the game room, tho they were upset that they couldn't bowl because the two lane bowling area was "booked up" . Apparently, one needed to reserve the lanes, but the front desk did not explain that. Our biggest issue was the non-helpfulness and attitudes of the front desk people. My husband and I had booked (at the same time as the previous reservation), a one bedroom suite for just ourselves on June 19th. It was raining that day and so we were not able to spend the time at crown point that we had planned and so arrived at Whiteface at 2pm. We asked if our room was ready and front desk said it wasn't, that check in time was 4pm. We went to a late lunch at Kanu's. Service was very slow. The food was certainly not 4.5 star quality. We had ordered onion soup and it only contained onions and broth for $13/bowl. When our chicken sandwich arrived, the french fries were cold, but the sandwich was tasty. At 3:45, we approached a different front desk person who took the time to call housekeeping to ask what time our room would be ready and that she would call us when it was....and after talking to housekeeping, she said it was ready and we could check in. Again, the grounds are lovely and the gardeners and groundsmen are very helpful, but the front desk could benefit from some customer service training. Now granted, we were using a groupon deal, and only paid $801 for the 3 bedroom suite and $289 for the one-bedroom, but quite honestly, I have had had better service for a whole lot less of my hard-earned money. Yes, we will go back if we get another groupon deal, but I am very glad I did not pay full-price, because for full price I would have expected 4.5 star service.

The Lodge is an all-suite venue which is very comfortable with many activities for all ages. The customer service, starting with the Front Desk, Bellman, Valet and Housekeeping was WONDERFUL ! Jodi at the Front Desk really set the tone for a most enjoyable experience, as did Ian, Travis and the Valets. We were there for 4 nights and had all meals except 1 at the Lodge. The Kanu Great Room restaurant is wonderful and we were able to have dinner on the patio with a beautiful view. The Great Room also has a lovely breakfast buffet. Drinks and Pizza at the Lounge are also very good. I would also like to mention, that we added a day to our original stay because we enjoyed it so much. For longer stays, our suite had a combo washer/dryer which is great. We will definitely return to the Whiteface Lodge.

The Whiteface Lodge is a wonderful place. First impressions matter, and I recommend that you take advantage of the complementary valet parking. We handed over our keys and our luggage was upacked from the car and in the room before we finished check in. Hats off the Vilson who made us feel welcome from the moment we pulled in. The hotel is activtities inclusive. Game room is great and enjoyed the old bowling alley one rainy afternoon. We quickly made a daily habit of the evening smores and also loved the outdoor fireplace by the log lean-tos that accompanied the wonderful sunsets over the mountains. The Spa is great and we made use of the steam room and sauna while the kids played in the pool. While there is much to do in the Lake Placid area, be sure to save some time to take advantage of the resort. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved this lodge. We had a two bedroom suite which was very spacious with every amenity you could think of. At night for turn down service they brought you bags of homemade chocolate chip cookies and a printout of the next day's activities. Every day you are provided with a NY Times summary printout, which is perfect on vacation. The suite is beautifully furnished, decorated with an elegant, comfortable lodge type vibe. The fur style throw blanket and comfortable porch were great too. There were many spots for us all to relax. The service was amazing....super prompt and helpful. We are dinner at the lodge one night at Kana. The food was good but the menu is limited. We had one room service meal which was delicious. We also enjoyed the extensive included breakfasts with great food and views. There are so any activities that my teens were so happy.. movies, s'mores, a game room and many outdoor sports activities. There was also a beautiful pool. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. My daughter and I also enjoyed the spa. Shout out to Heidi for the amazing massages. The only thing missing was flip flops to go with the great warm tones in the spa. I am sure there is something I am missing. Needless to say we loved our stay here. My kids wanted to extend our visit. Highly recommend!!!!!!!
