We stayed at The Whiteface Lodge in June of 2017. It was a beautiful "log cabin"-type resort. Everything was wood-decorated. The main dining room was a bit pricey, but there was a less expensive alternative right across the way on the same level. The rooms were well-maintained and the staff incredibly attentive. This was meant to be a relaxing get-away and it was just that... it rained a lot of the time we were there, but the pool was always heated and there was a campfire they would set up where you could make s'mores almost every evening. We really loved this place... there was even a 2-lane bowling alley on the premises. The spa was expensive and not as luxurious as the prices would lead you to believe, but all in all we had a great time.

The WFL is truly a luxurious little piece of heaven in the Adirondacks. The accommodations are spacious, comfortable, and clean. When you enter your room, it is as if you are entering your own private cabin in the woods and you have everything you need at your fingertips. The room lends itself very nicely to relaxation as the furnishings and lighting are all clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and plenty large to allow for meal preparation. We thoroughly enjoyed the included breakfast buffet every morning. The nightly turn down service was an added bonus and even included the delivery of delicious chocolate chip cookies. The staff were all extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. There are plenty of activities at the lodge to keep you busy. We did venture off site most days and found that the location of the lodge was enough removed from the hustle and bustle of downtown Lake Placid that you felt like you were in the mountains, but close enough to grab a quick bite to eat without a long ride. We traveled to Whiteface Mountain and The Wild Center during our stay. Both were located within a short scenic drive from the lodge. We look forward to our next visit back to the lodge!

When we arrived, it was pouring with rain the whole day so we didn't manage to explore as much as we would have liked during our short stay. The swimming pool was closed given it has access to outside the risk of potential lightning. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. We stayed in a family room with sofabed for children and extra bedroom. The quality of the main bed was fantastic and the bathroom very nice. We had an issue with the AC but someone quickly came to help us sort it out. The family games room is super - we had a lot of fun playing air hockey and other games - with free popcorn for all! We went to the pub restaurant which was fine - reasonable price for the quality. The breakfast in the main restaurant was good and the setting very nice. The next day we spent time at the lake and used the boating equipment. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed the hours at this location. All the hotel staff we came across were competent and friendly. We can recommend this hotel to others.

Arrived at 1am after Air Canada delays. Staff were great in getting us checked in and had made some sandwiches ready for us in the fridge just in case we were hungry. Room was spotless and a good size. Hotel facilities first class especially the pool and hot tubs. Tennis, deck games and an indoor bowling alley games room all available. Highlights were the private beach with a variety of kayaks, canoes and SUPs for use in Mirror Lake. No parking here but a complimentary shuttle takes away the hassle. Couldn't fault the staff at all, nothing was too much trouble. This is one of a few places that I would never hesitate to return to.
