My husband and I booked a corner room in the Clubhouse for our Honeymoon. We later heard that a single room in the Clubhouse is difficult to book because it's often reserved for events, but I think the specific days we booked/time of year/honeymoon status helped us out. Our room welcomed us with wine and chocolate covered strawberries!! The room was very spacious for the two of us with a bed, armoire, couch, TV, fireplace, kitchenette, dining table, and a large bathroom with a walk-in shower. The views from our corner room were spectacular! Our windows overlooked the outdoor heated pool and hot tubs, the Lodge, and the mountain range behind it. It looked so dreamy after a light snow! We, of course, tried the heated pool. It was an amazing experience to swim through the tunnel to outside... to have a light snow falling on our heads while we swam outdoors! Unforgettable. I booked a massage and facial at the Spa, which was very comfortable and relaxing. The staff was welcoming and personalized each experience to my needs. My husband and I often enjoyed relaxing by the fire in the Kanu Lounge, and celebrated our marriage with a delicious dinner in the Kanu dining room. Overall, the trip may have been pricey, but was so worth the splurge for our honeymoon. I would love to return again someday!

This is one of the nicest and most beautiful resorts we have ever experienced. The suites were large and beautifully finished in a wooden lodge style. The lodge itself was stunning with great amenities. I would go back in a moment. We had one bad surprise. We had to depart a day earlier from a 5 day stay reserved on Expedia. When checking out, we were told there would be a one-night stay penalty for an early departure. We have never seen such a thing in years of travel and we could not find this policy disclosed on the web-site or Expedia. Make your reservations carefully.

We booked the Whiteface Lodge last minute because weather conditions were deteriorating and skiing was going to be iffy our first couple of days in Lake Placid. It was a savior as the kids, 2 girls ages 9, 10 loved it all. Indoor / outdoor pool, game room, many food choices, ... . We thought the service was impeccable. We arrived very late and not only were we greeted warmly but there were tasty dinners ready for us in the refrigerator when we got into the room. We even received a free upgrade and can not say enough about the suite we had. 3 large bedrooms, living room, fireplaces and multiple bathrooms, ... . The master bedroom was a sanctuary! We liked it enough to stay an extra night. It's pricey, to be sure but in our estimation, a value.

Came here for a couple of nights. Lots of things to do with the kids. Beautiful views. Imagine winter time is sensational. Ate at the Kanu Lounge twice for dinner. Small menu but very tasty. Truffle fries were huge and delicious. Room was spacious and well appointed. Washer/dryer, fridge, microwave, etc. very comfortable bed.

This place is unbelievable, from the food, the bar, the decor, and the experiences that are provided. It is both an amazing getaway for couples and for families. We can't wait to go back. The Spa is a place where you can spend your entire morning before starting your day filled with swimming in the heated pool, playing a little foosball and then venturing out to make smores over one of their several cozy campfires. Their continental breakfast is amazing and don't forget to swing by the bar at night to play "15 questions" with their very talented and entertaining bartender.
