Machu Magic

We would highly recommend staying at the Sanctuary Lodge. It was very beautiful and the team was very welcoming. We especially enjoyed our Belmond provided tour guide, Hugo, he was very passionate and knowledgable. In the end, we felt like a group of old friends.

The best way to visit Machu Picchu

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

If you can afford it, this is the best way to experience Macau Picchu. The hotel is situated steps away from the park entrance. They integrate seamlessly with the Hiram Bingham luxury train and will take care of your every need. Service is outstanding. The restaurant is excellent, the gardens are beautiful. Most people stay a single night coming in on the Hiram Bingham and seeing one park route that same day, and seeing another oute the next, leaving with the evening train. If you can stay longer, you can do additional routes (ideally, do 1, 2 and 3 and if you’re fit enough, 4). We had to leave early on a regular train, and they sent a staff member to escort us and carry our luggage all the way down to the train station in Agua Caliente

Wonderful 2-night stay at Sanctuary Lodge

We opted to visit all 3 Machu Picchu circuits over 3 days and we couldn't be happier about the experience. It is an expensive stay though the exclusivity & opportunity is worth it!

We visited Peru and the entire trip was spectacular. Orient-Express hotels provided exceptional service and world-class accommodations. We stayed at the Miraflores Park Hotel, Hotel Monasterio, and Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge. All three hotels had beautiful rooms, outstanding restaurants, and a helpful friendly English-speaking staff. From now on, Orient-Express will be at the top of my list for worldwide travel.

We traveled to Peru and enjoyed stays at Miraflores Hotel in Lima, Hotel Monasterio in Cusco, and Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge. I am highly satisfied and recommend these hotels without reservation.

Our travels have taken us to several Orient-Express properties. The Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge is exclusively situated at one of the most 'magical and mysterious' sites in the Americas, and guarantees the visitor never-to-be forgotten experiences.
