Bad first impression - When we arrived @2pm with our group, the staff took our three suitcases from us and assured us that they would be delivered to our room when it was ready @4pm. We waited in the bar area until almost 5pm. We had to call the front desk to find out our room was ready. We were staying in one of the Kiva suites at the very top of the property. A staff member drove us to up our room and walked us into our casita. Only one of our three suitcases was in our room. When we asked where our other suitcases were, the staff member assured us they would locate them and bring them up promptly. After over an hour of us calling down to the front desk, and some panicking on our part, they finally located our bags. (This was after they initially brought us 2 bags that weren’t ours.) Turns out they had delivered our bags to the wrong room and apparently had no idea where they were for quite a while. This was a very unpleasant way to start our stay there. They made no attempt to tag our suitcases when we arrived and treated our carry-on luggage (which had medicine, jewelry and medical devices inside) way too casually for my comfort. We were late to our group dinner that night because of their screw up. It was a very stressful and unpleasant start to our stay. My advice is to keep your bags with you while you wait for your room. Also - The resort is built into a hillside and the elevation is above 7,000 ft, so beware if you have any mobility or breathing issues as you will most likely be hiking up a hill. Yes, the staff will drive you around as needed, but it’s a pain to have to wait for them. You are also dependent on their one cafe and the pool bar for any food, unless you want to dine in their restaurant every night. I wouldn’t stay here again.

we had a great time hotel and property are beautiful but needs refining. spa was small given the price, pool needed cleaning as it wasn't maintained daily. rooms need more TLC personalized service.

The property is beautifully designed, with a chill and welcoming vibe. The rooms are spacious, well-decorated, and have a lot of thoughtful touches. The service was on point the entire time, and the staff made everything super easy. Overall, it was a memorable stay, and I would definitely recommend this place!

We enjoyed our stay but for the price and for it being a 5 star resort we were not blown away. The good: employees are kind, room was comfortable and clean, shuttle service to town worked perfectly and birdwatching and sound bathing were nice. The not so good: one pool and one hot tub which are fine but nothing special, as advertised it’s a family resort so expect kids in the hot tub and pool, golf carts are not separated from pedestrian walkways, food is average and grounds feel a little tired in places. The surprising: driving to the resort we saw many signs raising concerns about the resort polluting nearby local water sources. I asked about the signs when we arrived and was told there was a lawsuit and that the resort won. I learned later that the resort sued the town - not how a hotel typically positions itself as a good neighbor. It feels like a big company with deep pockets trying to silence residents and the town who have significantly less resources. Had we known all of this we would have chosen another hotel. Not for us.

Bishop’s Lodge, Auberge Collection, is truly in a league of its own. After a grueling travel day with canceled flights, arriving late at night to such a warm, seamless greeting at the front desk was a complete lifesaver. Being whisked away in a golf cart to a beautiful room overlooking the property was the perfect introduction to the stay. To top it off, they had a delicious dinner and a bottle of champagne waiting in our room—a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for the rest of our trip. We stayed for five nights, and the breakfast every morning was worth every penny. It was never disappointing, and they offered something new each day to keep things interesting. The room itself was amazing—spacious, well-appointed, and the perfect home base. The amenities here really elevate the experience: Transportation: The shuttle service to downtown and the Railyard was a great touch, making it incredibly easy to explore without worrying about parking. The Mercedes Program: We took one of the complimentary Mercedes out to Bandelier National Monument, which was a blast to drive. The Picnic: The picnic lunch the staff prepared for our excursion was out of this world—easily one of the best meals of the trip. Activities: The trail hikes right on the property are beautiful and a great way to start the morning. The staff were consistently friendly and went above and beyond at every turn. I cannot recommend Bishop's Lodge highly enough for anyone looking for a luxury getaway that gets every single detail right. It was a perfect five-night stay!

“The Bishop's Lodge Ranch Resort & Spa was fabulous. They are so nice and treat everyone like they are the only people at the resort.”

“The reserved rooms were either shabby or had views that overlooked industrial buildings...for $50 per day we were upgraded to an outstanding villa that was probably worth much more”
