The property is nice and has a great feel to it. The staff are all excellent, polite and attentive. However, overall our experience was not as good as other Auberge properties we have stayed at. There seems to be a lack of coordination amongst the different teams within the resort. We emailed our spa time preferences and treatments ahead of our arrival. No one responded until the day we arrived. When I personally went to the spa they had no idea that someone had responded with the day/time the treatments were available so we went through it again and the availability changed yet again. I booked 3 treatments and later got a call in our room informing us that those day/time options were not available and we needed to find different times ! We eventually did that but should not have had to go through so many iterations with the resort. Upon checking into the room we request 2 additional chairs for the outdoor seating area and a step up stool to enable a 80 year old get onto the bed comfortably. Both were supposed to be delivered within an hour but there was nothing sent to us until we called again and again and finally after 5 hours both, the step stool and the chairs were delivered. I would expect a resort known for superior service to be more on top of it. We wanted to be at the resort to relax and nbot have to worry about these types of things and call and remind people to do their job and stick to their commitments.

Just a few hiccups during our stay. First night going to bed, door wouldn’t shut or lock. Didn’t want to call maintenance late so put some things in front of door in case wind or someone came in, we would know. Had no maid service next day, called about 5PM, they said they could send someone up within an hour, “don’t worry about it” I said . Back from dinner that night, no turn down service. Called again and they could send someone out. Turn down service not important. TV didn’t work one night, they fixed it next day, TV didn’t work again next night, we let it go. Just not what I would expect from a pricey hotel.

We had a wonderful stay overall at Auberge Bishop’s Lodge. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and the property has a peaceful, luxurious atmosphere that makes it a special place to visit. Breakfast was delicious each morning and was one of the highlights of our stay. The quality of the food and service at breakfast was outstanding. A few areas could be improved. Our room could have used a bit more attention from housekeeping, as there was noticeable dust on the floor throughout our three-day stay. In addition, the bar area seemed understaffed during dinner service, which resulted in slower service than expected. It’s such a beautiful space, and adding a few more team members during peak evening hours would really enhance the guest experience. Given the premium price point, we expected a slightly more polished overall experience. That said, the property itself is stunning, and with a few operational improvements, it would truly live up to the exceptional standard the Auberge brand is known for.

Bishop's Lodge was one of the highlights of our trip to Santa Fe. The resort perfectly blends authentic Southwestern charm with modern luxury, creating a peaceful retreat just minutes from the Plaza. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and exceptionally comfortable, with thoughtful details that reflected the history and character of New Mexico. The property itself is stunning, with incredible mountain views, beautifully landscaped grounds, and plenty of quiet places to relax and enjoy the scenery. The service was outstanding from check-in through departure. Every member of the staff was friendly, professional, and genuinely interested in making our stay memorable. The concierge team also provided excellent recommendations for local activities and dining. The food was excellent, and we especially enjoyed relaxing on the patio while taking in the views. Whether you're hiking the nearby trails, unwinding by the pool, or simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, Bishop's Lodge offers a true luxury experience without feeling pretentious. If you're visiting Santa Fe and looking for a resort that combines exceptional service, beautiful accommodations, and an authentic sense of place, I highly recommend Bishop's Lodge. We left already looking forward to our next visit.

“The Bishop's Lodge Ranch Resort & Spa was fabulous. They are so nice and treat everyone like they are the only people at the resort.”

“The reserved rooms were either shabby or had views that overlooked industrial buildings...for $50 per day we were upgraded to an outstanding villa that was probably worth much more”
