We just returned from another holiday week of skiing at Stowe. The Mountain Lodge soars above other hotels in Stowe. Of course, the location is superb. The ski in / ski out convenience is hard to beat. But what has made this last trip and many others so memorable is the staff at the hotel. From the moment you arrive there is a warm greeting from the valet crew at the front door- and it is the same once inside. The front desk staff was accommodating and helpful with a speedy check in. And if you an insiders view about the resort, ski trails, shopping, or even dog walking trails-- Billy O'Neill at the Concierge desk is the man to see. Billy is always incredibly helpful and since it was a holiday week encouraged us to make dinner reservations for the week which he handled on the spot. He even has dog treats at the ready for our labrador "Bear". In a world of chain hotels it is rarity to have someone like Billy that offers professionalism, grace, and humor to the guests. High five to Billy and crew at Stowe Mountain Lodge!

As avid skiers my husband and I decided to try a new mountain with our 9 yr old and 18 month old in tow. We stayed for 4 nights to squeeze as much skiing in as we could. So much to do for the little guys and the staff could not be more attentive to the kiddos. It’s also a great place to come without kids, we met so many fun people in the lounge during cocktail hour and we’re coordinating out next ski trip next month here with them. Ranee in housekeeping made us feel right at home. She remembered all of our names and gave us a warm welcome every time we returned to our floor. We were in room 381, just a classic room but very exciting for the little guy. The gondola passed right in front of our window. If you need local info Billy O in concierge is more than happy to help. What a cool guy, he logged 1000 runs on the slopes this year alone! See you in March Stowe Mountain Lodge, you totally blew us away. Oh a little off the beaten path tip, book a dog sledding tour at Peace Pups. Super nice people and a fun pack of dogs. You won’t regret it!

Decided to try and do a last minute vacation at Stowe on a holiday weekend. Bad idea or was it? Tried VRBO for a couple places and was shot down until a representative (Carrie) from Stowe Mountain Lodge rentals contacted us and arranged an awesome house for a great price! She said it was a new rental and did not have any photos. Booked it on trust, I had been burned before with other rental companies. House exceeded expectations and Carrie was so accommodating in arranging passes and last minute requests. Could not have been happier with my rental and the professionalism of the rental company!

What can I say? Billy at the concierge was our daily dose of small town warmth. My wife and I decided to visit Stowe Vermont after watching The Sound of Music with our 2 year old daughter. Being from Los Angeles we had no idea what to with ourselves while in a small town. Billy was there to help guide us to the best, and most kid friendly places in Stowe. Billy greeted us every time we came back to the resort, even after only one initial conversation. What a memory on him! Now the resort is everything you will need on a ski trip. Although it is a little bit of a drive to the center of town, the resort offers plenty of choices from dining to entertainment to RELAXATION. There's a cute little wine/convenient store in the resort that you can buy a bottle of wine and take back to your room. Which is basically a must if you have a child in her terrible 2's. Our room; we booked a room with a single king bed and were given a room with two twin beds, Billy was to the rescue after we checked in. We were told by the front desk that the two twin beds were all that they had available. After a brief stop at the concierge desk to inquire about activities and dining for the next day, we somehow mentioned to Billy that we were less than happy with our sleeping options. The next morning we were told that they had a room with a king bed that we could move over too. The front desk never mentioned Billy's name, but I have a feeling he had a hand in it. I know i keep harping about Billy at the concierge, but hats off to the valet guys as well. I wish I got their names, but they are some of the most friendliest valet attendants I have ever come across. Keep in mind that I live in Los Angeles, and valet is everywhere! The valet guys even remembered our names overtime we came back to the resort. Now the nit and gritty. The resort is at the base of the mountain, so thats great. The rooms are very spacious and clean. No need to further my rant about the staff, so I'll just leave it at, Billy and the rest of the staff at the resort have raised the bar for any other vacation we go on. Thank you again Stowe Mountain Lodge, Billy and the valet!

Perfect ski vacation! Location, location, location. Ski amenities, stores, staff - all a+. Internet connection and Wofi needs serious makeover. Food and beverages are at exorbitant prices. But considering the location and if you plan your food from around the town, you can manage to make the best out of your visit.
