Want a fun place to ride? This place is close to you Utah & Heber County residence. Snowboarding, skiing and even ski school. The park has just enough mountain rides to wear you out in a day. I even enjoy coming here for a couple of hours. There's 5 lifts, 45 trails, free parking, trick parks, bunny hill, grill and food shacks. You can also rent equipment, buy a day pass, season or even all year. Different activities through the year. Don't let this fun pass you by!

We loved it from the moment we arrived, even before seeing Sunday Brunch. This is a magical place if you love nature and the outdoors. It wears its ecological values and provenance on its sleeve. We were there in winter and were pleasantly surprised to find out that the room rate included a skiing lift pass. The resort comprises different types of outbuildings hidden in the surrounding forests. The buildings are wooden, and in our case wood-beamed with high ceilings and a wood-burning fire grate (as well as conventional heating). The room was secluded, quiet and cosy. Squirrels and birds play in the trees around the room. The resort facilities are in two cosy wooden buildings with a complimentary shuttle. Surprisingly, the shuttle vehicles were not electric. The cuisine at Sundance is outstanding, from the copious portions in the historic Owl Bar to the award-winning Tree Room. All around is a mixture of fascinating film memorabilia, native American artifacts and historic prints relating to the origins of the resort. The staff are charming, helpful and engaging. The ski area is not large, but, with so few people there is plenty of interesting terrain for a few days. Sundance is the only resort out of the six we skied in Utah to have a “no rucksac’s” policy on the ski lifts, despite it not having experienced any actual incidents. The resort has an extensive network of its zip lines, which look long and enticing. Which brings us to eating, especially Sunday Brunch. There you are, in the middle of the forests and the spread is incredible. From a choice of roast meats to a centerpiece of fresh deserts and cakes. Make sure your stay includes a Saturday night and book ahead to eat in the Tree Room. All in all Sundance is a very romantic place to stay as well as a unique ski experience. We want to go back in other seasons and to go horse riding, enjoy the arts and performances and to see the unspoilt mountain environment. We can’t wait to return.

We had one night to stay here for a business meeting. Had a fantastic ski school experience, only to discover the hot water heater in our (Mandan) room was shared with the folks upstairs. Apparently, they got all the hot water first after our full day of skiing. A chilly, barely warm shower was all we got that night. The staff apologized and assured us the heater worked fine. But next morning (at 6:00 am, there wasn't enough hot water for a bath, and we both hurried to take warm showers before the water ran out. Again, a sweet apology was offered, but it was little comfort. I know Sundance prides itself on a "rustic" experience, but this was not what I expected for $300/night. Very disappointing way to end a great ski day. I would have expected some kind of compensation, but none was offered. Not sure I'd try staying there again.

Short drive south of Salt Lake City is this amazing resort. Not too crowded, lots of powder, lots of groomed runs. Lift ticket is reasonable for full day $70. Definitely a family friendly resort area. Would put this ski resort on the come back again list.

We visited Sundance on our only rest day when skiing in Utah for 8 days. It was beautiful, a boutique ski resort. We watched glass blowing, had lunch and just enjoyed the environment. Robert Redford has done a fine job at developing this resort. I love this quote of his. See photo
