We checked into Sundance after dark and was shown to our room by a nice young man who drove a resort vehicle (we followed) to the Mandan area. We then walked up rough steps and gravel then up more steps and past another’s patio to get to our room which was tucked in the very back of the resort. Our room was a first floor room, laid out a little oddly, like a U with a closet on one part of the U and the bathroom around the other. The bathroom was a nice size, heated floors, large deep bathtub, and the sink in a separate area right outside bath. Nice room “condiments” of shampoo, bath wash, soaps, lotion and conditioner. A little disappointed that the wooden shutter above the bed was obviously broken, slats missing and falling out, unable to open or close them. Seems staff would’ve noted and fixed. Bed was very comfortable, nice pillows, sheets smelled and felt fresh. We enjoyed walking and hiking around the property and driving over the mountain. Beautiful area. Staff was all very polite and welcoming. Had great meals and service at the Foundry Grill. Sorry we missed being able to take the lift up the mountain as it was closed until later in the month. Overall a very pleasant stay and enjoyed the property.

The zip line here is insane. My kids were very excited to do it. It is very long and very high. It was a ton of fun. We also went on a trail ride from the Sundance Stables. It was also amazing. The staff was great for both activities and the scenery breathtaking.

Pros Scenery, access to restaurants and bar, comfy beds, plenty of hiking, many scenic drives, free lift to top of mountain when they are running it (dress warm in fall! It's warm at bottom very cold at top, saw kids going up no coats and it was 30 degrees up there and lift gets cold fast) foundry restaurant delivers to rooms, quiet most of the time. Cons No air conditioning in cabins, cabin is nice but they never vacuum floors dead bugs on floors every visit and window sill, not kept up well, broken vase, big tear on couch, fireplace didn't work so we had them they fix it. No simple meals nearby like pizza delivery or fast food. Cabins don't get vacuumed, dead bugs on window sills and floors.

Gorgeous venue. The rooms are very nice, but not super fancy. The service is good - very friendly. Food is pretty good, though expensive. However the location and outdoor activities are spectacular so worth the money to stay here for a mountain get away!

This beautiful Valley and resort makes you feel a million miles away from civilization but in fact you aren't. Great food, wonderful service, very comfortable accommodations and the most beautiful area that you can imagine. Lots to do or not! Will definitely return. Have been here in summer and fall. Both fabulous! Our room, a studio has a very small kitchen so bring your snacks or breakfast or go to one of the four restaurants on the property. The sandwiches at the deli are the best ever!
