Checked in around 5:30 with the GF and Dog. Friendly check in guy and a very comfortable room. He gave me a break on the dog fees and was generally very welcoming. He told me that the restaurant was closed for the off-season.

Great location, walk distance to a very good grocery store, and some other services. Gorgeous view from the rooms balcony. Our room was very comfortable with a wonderful king size bed, sitting area with a sofa, and a large, and charming fireplace. The full kitchen was very handy because the restaurant and bar were closed due to the off-season time.

We booked a Junior Suite several weeks in advance for a romantic ski retreat and requested a quiet location. Looked impressive on paper. We arrived and were assigned a ground level unit, street side across from the main lobby entrance. Our patio and bedroom window were practically in the facility driveway. This very exposed location to an endless fleet of arriving vehicles combined with the usual nightmare of loud thumping feet from neighbors above as a result of poor barrier insulation motivated us to request another location. However, as you might guess, we were told by the friendly front desk the standard "nothing else available" story unless we were willing to upgrade for the matching charge which added hundreds to our non-refundable reservation. We agreed rather than suffer the consequences of staying put and moved to a better unit. Location was far better though much of the living area furniture was broken &/or distressed including our one and only saggy abused non-supportive couch. Tiny master bathroom. Poor dining experiences (twice) in restaurant due to short staffing issues prompted us to seek alternatives. Unchallenged family with diapered baby in hot tub (Yuck, really?) and children in sauna are not my idea of a resort nor worthy of the additional fees. No offered compensation or comments from management after several days speaks volumes. On the positive side, most of the working staff were friendly and helpful to their credit. The gas fireplace I must admit was nice and worked well. The kitchen seemed adequate for small family meals. And yes, we were able to crack open our bedroom window and not have to endure each passing tailpipe.

We stayed at Mountain Lodge during the last week of the 2017 ski season. We stayed in the Double Cabin building and had a deluxe two bedroom suite on the second floor. My wife, two sons and I came mainly for the skiing. The Double Cabin unit is a 30 second walk to the slope (named Double Cabin) which was a big plus for us. Also, a big plus for us is that Double Cabin is an easy slope to access lift #10. If one stays in the town of Telluride is slopes are much steeper. The Mountain Lodge staff were all very personable and helpful. The restaurant (The View) is beautiful with its hugh fireplace and A framed windows. I noticed that the locals like to hang out at the bar and enjoy $5 hamburgers between 2 - 5 P.M. I cannot think of much to complain about - we didn't like paying $20 per day to Park our rental car. We highly recommend the Mountain Lodge!

Not the most modern, but super friendly, clean, well run and well situated. We had a great break in a double cabin, enjoyed being right on the slope, enjoyed the pool and hot tub and not having to use our car to go anywhere.
