Our recent stay at this property was too short. We were there only two nights but could have stayed a week. The main lodge overlooks a vast wild area and small lake on any given day you can see impalas, inyalas, kudu, warthogs, and crocodiles from the restaurant balcony. The lodge looks like something from a movie: all wood and beams with African decor everywhere. The staff is warm and welcoming and always has a pleasant word for its patrons. Rooms each have a separate entrance a short ways from the lodge. Complete with mosquito netting, the rooms are exactly what you would anticipate an African Safari lodge to have: again all wood beams, nicely decorated, with balconies overlooking the Savannah. We were warned to always keep our windows shut to prevent monkeys and baboons from entering, and destroying, our room! Rooms have air conditioning, a ceiling fan, a full bath with walk-in shower, and all the amenities you would expect at a luxury hotel. The restaurant and bar are both lovely and the food is delicious and plentiful. Prices are not inexpensive, on a par with American prices. The US dollar is the official currency of Zimbabwe so there’s no conversion to worry about. There is also a separate restaurant called The Boma which is well worth going to for the drum show and buffet that includes many African dishes. We went on both the Sunset River Cruise and the tour of Victoria Falls. Both were excellent. For a true spirit of Africa, this is the place to visit.

We enjoyed two nights at this beautiful property. Our balcony looked out at the watering hole where we were able to watch elephants, zebra, and other animals. Views from the pool were great as well. Breakfast offered a nice variety, including made to order eggs. However, we had to battle persistent bees one morning. Staff was friendly and our stay was pleasant.

Thank you for a wonderful stay and most excellent adventure. The location and accommodation was exemplary. The bar view of the waterhole with all its visitors was a daily treat. Staff were kind, courteous and very helpful. Can’t wait to come back. See you soon!

We have recently spent two weeks at VFSL, my wife, daughter, her husband, and their 6yo daughter. We stayed in VFSL in 2014 with such a wonderful experience, which is why we returned. As many of your reviewers will have said, the décor and location of VFSL is wonderful, there are so many lovely features, it would take ages to list them all, our granddaughter particularly loved the swimming pool, but for me the most special feature is the staff. They are all so friendly, warm and helpful, especially the restaurant and bar staff, staying for two weeks we got to know each other well and they treated us like family. It was very touching and emotional when two of the breakfast staff came down to say Good Bye, just before we left. Love to you all, and Thank You for making our stay so special!
