I have no idea how it happened - but through the website and even other reviews - I wound up paying $450 USD per night (2 people sharing a room) for something worth closer to $150 USD per night. The videos and photos they have online are outstanding - and not truly realistic of most rooms and every day waterhole/lodge activity. The rooms are very small, basic and tired. The closet is so sketchy feeling I don't want to put clothes in there (there is no dresser). The bed takes up 80% of the room - so you scarcely have space to open suitcases. On the up-side....a family of baboons came on our terrace yesterday which I loved (many would not - and consider them pests). We only have breakfast included in our rate (mediocre), and EVERYTHING else you can bet you pay for. They even own their own 'hide' by the waterhole - and want you to pay $50 on top of your $450 per night to use it! I think they should have it for guests, first some first serve. For the price, I had also hoped they would have at least a free 'walk' with someone who knows the area - or some other activities. They have a 'vulture lunch' - where they put food out and vultures come eat it (oh wow) - but that is all you get without paying extra. As others have said - the big thing here is to push you into PAID activities all day long (which of course they get a commission for). Even to visit the national park to see the falls - $30 USD (with NO guide etc - just entry). I won't be back - likely not even to Vic Falls (and certainly not to this lodge unless they drop the price by 75%).

We went on a trip of a life time, whilst we were interested in seeing African Wild Life we did not want to rough it by going on a Safari. Our first stop was at this Safari Lodge and we were not disappointed. Our room consisted of a lounge on the ground floor, with a toilet and balcony over looking the water hole, on the first floor a large four poster bed with on suite facilities, the two rock pools over looked the water hole and the restaurant and bar also overlooked the water hole so we saw many different animals day and night visiting the water hold. The food and service at the lodge was great and the visit to the Lodges African evening was also great, we could not fault this 5 star Lodge..

This hotel was a great place to stay in Victoria Falls. The Lodge is away from the town, and many rooms have a tremendous view of the waterhole where buffalo, elephant, waterhogs and impala are regular visitors. The pool area is small but perfectly adequate. The food is excellent, and with views over the bush it was always a pleasure to be eating! There is a free and regular shuttle service down into the town and to the Falls themselves. We really enjoyed our stay here and can highly recommend it.
