An incredible meal in a beautiful setting in West LA

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 22 hours ago

The setting at the Hotel Bel Air is beautiful. It is like an oasis in LA. We started with drinks in the bar which was beautiful and a very classic setting. We moved to the restaurant and everything our group ordered was phenomenal. The fettuccine bolognese is not to be missed. The service was great, friendly and professional.

Liz Ramos discriminating against loyal black patron has completely turned me off to this place. It’s unfortunate such a lovely locations. However I prefer to go where money skin color and money will be respected! The word is out!

A standout that keeps getting better

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I come to the Hotel Bel-Air often for work, so I've seen it across many visits, and lately it has reached a new level. A big part of that is Hristina Pesheva, who has been running all food and beverage for about six months now. You can already feel the difference she's made. The service is sharper, the details are thoughtful, and every visit somehow tops the last one. It's rare to watch a property improve this noticeably in such a short time, but that's exactly what's happening here. The food and the hospitality have been consistently excellent. I genuinely look forward to coming back now, and I recommend the hotel without hesitation. With Hristina leading F&B, it's only getting better. Looking forward to more changes

The Best

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

This place is super expensive. They advertise a room for a tad over $1,000, but add the tax and other expenses they have and you have a not too large room. But it is worth it. It is always worth it. We had our daughter's wedding there (some time ago) and we have been back several times. We can't afford to always go there so we pick our times. It is located in Bel Air on a little quiet street. Parking is for a fee. The service can't be beat, planning for an event, they got you, just staying a couple of days they have you are that as well. They speak more than one language. They are just the best. The place is magical. It as ponds with swans, it has the best pool and spa, and the food--well, it is amazing. It matters not if you are there for breakfast or a special dinner. They also have private rooms. It is the best hotel in all of Southern California. Save your pennies and go at least once. Wait until you see all the places to walk and the wine list is the best. Of course they have a full bar.

Really disappointing birthday stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

I have stayed at the hotel Bel-Air a few times before, including Just nine months before this day and always have a nice time so when it came to my mum’s birthday trip and she decided if you wanted to go to Los angeles staying at the hotel Bel-Air with a no brainer to celebrate her and a lovely relaxing place after a long trip from the UK. When I booked I made clear two things - it was her birthday and also that she had mobility issues, both of these things were completely ignored. When we arrived, we were put in the very back room of the property right at the back - far away and up two flights of stairs - utterly inappropriate for her mobility issues it made the trip a real struggle and it was clear we were not welcome guests During our entire day, despite eating in the restaurant regularly going to the bar and generally being around the property not a single old person wished her a happy birthday or even acknowledged that this trip was for her birthday. They had a big wedding for several days we were there that big wedding party took up all of the staffs time resource in hospitality and we were largely ignored something I’ve never seen before at this hotel. They were clearly extremely busy often. I had to phone two or three times to get any basic to answer for basic things like lighting the fire or to bring items that weren’t put in our room, we were missing simple things like shower caps and soap that housekeeping has not replaced. I think we were so far back and nobody really noticed us. On top of the really poor service two days in a row I had to ring to ask them to remove the rugs from our room that housekeeping had left one day of our trip. They left rags in the middle of the floor, on the second time they had left a dirty bag on top of my suitcase the photo was attached. I wouldn’t expect this in a very basic hotel. I certainly wouldn’t expect it for the price I was paying at this hotel. Moreover, for the entirety of our six days that will cobwebs on the lights in both the room in the bathroom I found about this ask them to clean it they said they would but the photographs show they were still there upon departure it was dirty and miserable. I travel to LA a few times a year however this was probably my mum’s only trip and they absolutely ruined it for us. We spent a lot of money had no service and last day was really bad. I’m so disappointed.
