This place has the same vibe as other Dorchester’s we stay- most often would be the London site which I recommend with applause to the stars. The Belair is as amazing as everything you’ve read before my review- what I personally most love about it is its intimate feeling- this is not a show-offy place, it’s super private and beautiful and peaceful and non-fake in a city which has some issues with the aforementioned adjectives. Definitely worth the splurge!! Go!! Food, environment, bar, spa, pool, rooms, everything is as good as it gets. It’s the kind of place you love so much you don’t want anyone else to learn about it! ❤️🙏

The differences may seem subtle between this world class institution and imitations, but there are few hotels that match Hotel Bel-Air for its mix of elegance, intimacy, service, and physical beauty. Arranged as pavilions (some stand-alone cottages) in a beautiful park setting, with its famous pool (where stars from Hollywood's golden age once swam), the hotel still impresses with it friendly service and inimitable atmosphere. The bar is a wonderful throwback, though well-renovated, and (contrary to some of the other reviews) the hotel has been kept up, with sensitive renovations without (I'm thankful for it) renovations that change the character of the place. Breakfast is good, room service is expensive and a bit slow, and the restaurant is OK, though a beautiful setting--the wine list, especially for Californians, is good, but the prices are needlessly expensive. Best of all are the beautifully kept gardens, with their famous swans and winding paths: worth spending an afternoon there, rather than going anywhere, if on a quick trip to LA. The hotel is expensive, but that should be obvious.

Always happy to come back here; beautiful, magical place. Excellent service, stunning rooms. Delicious breakfast. Prices correspond so know what you're getting into, but you'll enjoy. Simply marvelous.

Stayed in February 2018 with the Mrs. No faults with any of the staff, everyone was exceptional. The suite we stayed in was as advertised with the exception of the living room window looking out onto the road. But it's hard to avoid that as the property is really sandwiched into a residential area. It's also in between 2 hills which, at least at this time of year, really limited the sun at the pool to about 11-2. Another issue, not necessarily a small one, is that the restaurant is pretty small. One night we were able to make reservations, the next we were unable to, at any time. On the plus side the room service is excellent.

We went here for an anniversary not a business trip. Very relaxing atmosphere, soothing feeling and very tasteful. For what we paid i expected that. The staff, they found out it was our anniversary. A surprise of chocolate covered strawberries and on the second night someone turned down our bed and put some of the tulip magnolia petals on it in the shape of a heart. Impossible to describe how touching that was. OK, so if that was special to us, the food was still very good and the grounds are just so relaxing. Only thing to watch out for if a first timer, hard to find at night so check in early.
