We had the most delightful experience at this hotel! We arrived during a taxi strike and found ourselves stranded at the train station. Concierge Modesto sent over a driver in a Maserati (not joking!) to pick us up. I'm not saying that this was free, but I am pointing out that the service was impeccable with staff going the extra mile to make things go smoothly. Our room was small, but very comfortable. If you aren't fond of scents, you should tell the staff not to spray your room with perfume. It could be said that this hotel is not really conveniently located for tourists, and it is a challenge to exit the hotel on foot because one has to navigate some very busy streets and dicey crossings. We heard others complaining of traffic noise. Everything else, though is a traveler's dream. The breakfast buffet was delicious and, as travelers with dietary allergies, we were more than taken care of. The almond milk they offered was gourmet, as was the gluten free croissant. The gym on the 10th floor had everything you need, plus a wraparound patio with breathtaking views of downtown Milan. Everyone, from Laura at the front desk, to the ladies who checked us in at breakfast, to the room service guy, to the concierges were all on point at every moment. They all spoke English and other languages beautifully and their attitude was "If we don't have what you want, we will get it." When my passport was stolen, they were able to accommodate us for another night and were thoughtful enough to bring chocolates and a bottle of water to the room to apologize on behalf of Milan that we had to endure such a negative experience. When my husband accidentally left his passport in the safe, once again Modesto came to the rescue, impeccably. He retrieved the passport within about 6 minutes and had someone bring it out to us at the airport. As another reviewer remarked, the hotel doesn't feel stuffy, but one feels appreciated and welcomed as a guest. Hospitality at its best.

From the moment we arrived (very early in the morning) at this lovely hotel the service never faltered. Check-in receptionist Laura spoke perfect english and went out of her way to ensure only a short wait until our beautiful room was ready. The hotel is a very short taxi ride from Centrale train station and offers a shuttle limo to a few of the big attractions (Galleria and Duomo) each half hour. In-house guests can also use the service back to the hotel from the city. The spectacular breakfast room was filled with old-world charm and stunning marble floors and the variety and quality of food offered was a delight. Their specialty restaurant, Acanto, is next level. Unfortunately we only had a 2-night stay in this beautiful hotel and didn't have a chance to experience the lovely spa. Thank you Principe di Savoia - until we meet again..

I spent two nights here for a conference. Well located, friendly staff, good sized rooms. The only issue I had was a very loud family next to me. The rooms had a connecting door which doesn’t help with sound proofing. Would come back but confirm that I wasn’t in such a room next time.

We were expecting a more standardized, corporate experience but the staff were very cordial and offered a very personal level of service. Since the hotel was refurbished very recently, last year, the decoration, furniture and condition of every corner of the hotel were impeccable. Original historic detail such as the original marquetry work of the guest room doors has been beautifully restored, while interpolating it with contemporary elements to breathe fresh energy into this venerable grand dame. When we were stranded at Fiera Milano at 11 pm after a tennis tournament, I called Francesco, who had checked us in at the front desk, to help us find some way to get us home. He immediately had the concierge desk call me back to discuss transportation options. When we left our electric toothbrush at the hotel and emailed them the same day, after business hours, to request them to leave it at the front desk for our pick-up, they emailed me back within 5 minutes. All members of staff were gracious and warm without being obsequious or canned. The hotel is redolent of history without any of the stuffiness you might associate with such a storied property. Finally, at the rate of ÂŁ300 or below, the hotel is a bargain compared to the other five-star options which are mostly twice the price (Four Seasons, Bulgari, Armani, Park Hyatt). We feel lucky to have discovered this hotel, will definitely stay there again and will probably seek out other Dorchester Collection hotels due to the very positive experience we had the at the Principe di Savoia.
