This was our first trip to Jamaica. We chose Montego Bay due to the location from the airport. After a long day of travel we didn't want to drive far to our destination. As for our experience traveling as a family we have been to Florida, Arizona, Mexico 4 times, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. Personally I have traveled to many countries including Europe several times, Hawaii, Dominican Republic, and Mexico over 20 times. Jamaica was a very great experience. We loved the culture. The people were very friendly. The airport was a breeze. And transfer to the Hyatt Ziva was comfortable and friendly. Arriving at the resort the property is BEAUTIFUL. The buildings and landscape especially are stunning. Very clean and well kept. The front desk help was friendly. Our rooms were in the newer building by the restaurants and stage where the nightly entertainment was enjoyed. Yes it is loud at night while the shows are playing but I brought ear plugs which helped. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. No complaints. Our teenage boys had a room next to us and they were very happy with everything. Especially 24 hour room service. They had cheeseburgers and ice cream late night every day we were there. They also loved the cookies at the coffee/cafe shop located in our building by all the restaurants. The restaurants were all good. Not great but very good. The Asian was probably our favorite and I also liked the Italian, and the Brazilian steak house. The buffet was average at best for dinner. We really loved the jerk chicken and pork stand by the pool. Delicious and super convenient. The boys would grab this food throughout the day when they got hungry for a snack. The bars and drinks were ok. I've had much better drinks in Mexico. I won't compare it to Hawaii or Grand Cayman because they aren't in the same category but I feel the Mexico all-inclusives are a good comparison. The Chardonnay was good. That was a bonus. The beach is pretty but not a nice Long Beach for walking. It's just a cove style. And there is not good swimming or wave surfing. It is excellent for young young kids because it's calm, shallow, and one area is sand bottom. The other areas are very shallow and rocky making it almost impossible to swim. This was the only complaint from my kids and myself too. We much more enjoy a good swimmable, walkable , beach. The views are very pretty though and it is cleaned daily from weeds and the waitresses are very good and friendly. The staff was great! My boys had tons of stuff to keep them entertained. They played beach volleyball, shot hoops in the pool, played bean bag (corn hole) tournaments, paddle boarded, played pool, foosball, then chilled out in their room with wi-fi. I would highly recommend this resort. We had such a fun stay. And next door is the adults only side where my husband I could go have a dinner alone. But the family side has better pools and beach by far.

The bed/mattress was so comfortable you may not leave your room. The linen is amazing as well. Property is beautiful and I have never seen so many lounge chairs, cabanas, swings etc,on one property before. More than enough for all without having to rush there early in the morning to get a chair. Cant elaborate enough the beauty of the property. There are many restaurants and don't need to make reservation to eat at any of them. Any drink you can think of they can make for you at one of the bars. Shows at nights were very entertaining.

We have never stayed at an all inclusive. We weren't sure what to expect. This hotel was beyond our expectations. From the accommodations to the food to the hotel grounds, this hotel was fantastic. Friendly staff and yummy rum punches.

We stayed at the Hyatt Ziva and the staff always made you feel welcome. Everyone we came in contact with was always so friendly and accommodating to our needs. Will definitely be going back again and staying on the 5th floor with Club Room access where they treat you like royalty.
