The Oberoi, Mumbai

The oberoi sets the bar high for its service and high quality standards in everything from the in room check in (which is rare) to each member of the staff

Wi-Fi is really poor and not compatible with a 5-star hotel . Every month I have to call the technical assistance because it is too slow and always interrupting. It is too slow and interrupting in the Gym and in the Resident’s Lounge. It is impossible and stressful to work efficiently or to have a gym training with the Wi-Fi of the Hotel . As for streaming inside the room: I lost already an online interview because there was poor connection . I was ashamed before the interviewer, as I said Índia was technologically advanced , with a great economic growth, this region being the economic centre, but I could not offer a clear transmission from Mumbai .

This is simply the best hotels in Mumbai. Located close to the major tourist attractions is South Mumbai. An immaculate hotel, well appointed rooms, exquisite food (Indian/Chinese/European), caring staff. Highly recommended!

City hotels are not easy to get right - often a lack of any sort of view, no gardens and so on, but overall, The Oberoi was just a dream for us. Arriving quite early from London, our room was ready. This trip was the start of a series of holidays for a “big” birthday milestone for my wife. The hotel knew this and kind decked the room out in balloons, a Happy Birthday sign on the window and a (delicious) cake. A fabulous start. We ate in the Indian restaurant - pricey as everyone says but wonderful food. A message from the manager Mr Amit Kaul was sent to me to check that everything was ok. I replied saying that in short order, his staff had been nothing but charming, helpful and delightful - all of them. I added - as a joke - that the room was a little small and that next time I should spend a bit more money on a larger room. Well, the next morning, a lovely lady, Neha, came to us at breakfast and suggested we move rooms at no cost to a “more comfortable” room. A suite no less. What an incredible thing to happen. The difference was day and night. A separate sitting room - useful as I had a small amount of work to do early in the morning whilst Mrs snoozed - and a much larger bathroom with twin basins. A view over the bay is a plus although the view is a bit hazy! We spent time at the pool - preferring the Trident pool. Breakfasts were superb - a great way to start the day. The transfers to and from the airport were arranged by the hotel - Merc E class, so very comfy. All in all, I have nothing but praise for this incredible hotel. The Oberoi philosophy on hospitality is World renown and to experience it is simply a pleasure.

I would like to call out my Excellent spa experience, from the moment I arrived Prativa and her team made me feel very welcome and comfortable. My masseuse Shon gave an excellent Swedish massage and left me very refreshed and relaxed! Overall a great experience and look forward to my next return!
