The Oberoi, Mumbai

The Oberoi Mumbai is the ideal hotel anywhere whether one is on business or, like us, a couple visiting a wonderful place. We’ve stayed here many times over the past 15 years. The rooms and views are wonderful. The hotel facilities are A+ and the people who work here are excellent. The concierge people are tops (Sachin, Nabeel and Danny). Everyone takes pride in their work. Driver Robert is wonderful. Bella, who kept our room clean and comfortable, also was wonderful, always going the “extra mile.” The restaurants and other facilities (eg, Eau bar) are wonderful. Great place!

Having no personal connections in India, it is the warmth, care, and genuine hospitality of the team that made this possible — and continues to bring me back year after year. From the moment I arrive, everything is handled with effortless grace. The airport pickup is always seamless and stress-free, and after a long journey, being welcomed with such professionalism and warmth immediately makes me feel at home. Housekeeping is consistently exceptional — diligent, attentive, and always willing to listen carefully to preferences and instructions. It’s this level of attention to detail that elevates the comfort of every stay. Dining at Fenix is always a highlight. Every breakfast and dinner experience is thoughtful, warm, and consistently excellent. The quality of food, the attentiveness of the staff, and the relaxed yet elegant atmosphere make each meal something to look forward to. What truly sets The Oberoi, Mumbai apart is not just the understated elegance, beautiful ambiance, or outstanding restaurants — it’s the people. The team creates an environment that feels warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring, even when staying or dining alone. The Oberoi, Mumbai is more than a hotel — it has become a home away from home. This is simply the best hotels in Mumbai. Located close to the major tourist attractions is South Mumbai. An immaculate hotel, well appointed rooms, exquisite food (Indian/Chinese/European), caring staff. Highly recommended!

City hotels are not easy to get right - often a lack of any sort of view, no gardens and so on, but overall, The Oberoi was just a dream for us. Arriving quite early from London, our room was ready. This trip was the start of a series of holidays for a “big” birthday milestone for my wife. The hotel knew this and kind decked the room out in balloons, a Happy Birthday sign on the window and a (delicious) cake. A fabulous start. We ate in the Indian restaurant - pricey as everyone says but wonderful food. A message from the manager Mr Amit Kaul was sent to me to check that everything was ok. I replied saying that in short order, his staff had been nothing but charming, helpful and delightful - all of them. I added - as a joke - that the room was a little small and that next time I should spend a bit more money on a larger room. Well, the next morning, a lovely lady, Neha, came to us at breakfast and suggested we move rooms at no cost to a “more comfortable” room. A suite no less. What an incredible thing to happen. The difference was day and night. A separate sitting room - useful as I had a small amount of work to do early in the morning whilst Mrs snoozed - and a much larger bathroom with twin basins. A view over the bay is a plus although the view is a bit hazy! We spent time at the pool - preferring the Trident pool. Breakfasts were superb - a great way to start the day. The transfers to and from the airport were arranged by the hotel - Merc E class, so very comfy. All in all, I have nothing but praise for this incredible hotel. The Oberoi philosophy on hospitality is World renown and to experience it is simply a pleasure.
