What a truly fantastic 2 nights spent at the Oberoi Mumbai. I have to say that the hotel deserves to be called Mumbai's No. 1 5 Star hotel. While the rooms and the facilities are top notch what differentiates The Oberoi Mumbai from other hotels is the Service standards & the Staff. There is a level of detail that has gone into every facet of the hotel i.e. Check-in / Check-out, Room Service & Housekeeping, Room Amenities, Restaurants, Staff training & courtesy, Willingness to assist, etc. We had opted for the Suite Surprise package which is a great option for the luxury seekers. The hotel picks & drops you in a Limo & you are housed in their Ocean Facing Suites which in my opinion are amongst the world's best designed & furnished rooms. The Ocean facing Suites have gorgeous view of the Queen's necklace & the Arabian Sea. The room is split into 2 parts i.e. living area - housed with comfortable sofa seating, a powder room, mini-bar & a huge flat screen TV and the bedroom which has a king sized bed, another flat screen TV, a coffee table with lounge chairs facing the french windows which offer a great view of the sea & the surroundings. The bathroom is as large as the bedroom itself & is well-stocked with bath amenities from Kama. The suite surprise package includes breakfast & an exclusive evening cocktail hour (where they serve the world's best alcohol with some bar snacks on the house). While the hotel has a few dining options, there are multiple restaurants & bars within walking distance of the hotel. The Hotel has a great Spa & a leisure Pool which is a great spot to spend in the evenings. The hotel is also connected to the Trident which also houses a few good restaurants if one wants to try. The hotel literally spoils you and is truly luxurious & opulent. It sets an example for every any other 5 star hotel chain to imitate. The Oberoi Mumbai has ruined 5 Star Hotels for me as I start expecting the same level of service & quality from every hotel that I stay in. Will surely be back.

13 night business trip in Mumbai and I had selected The Oberoi on a recommendation and partly as we had a fantastic corporate rate. I loved my stay. Like being in a small boutique hotel but with the size and facilities of a large international chain. The building and rooms are fine, very standard for this type of hotel. What sets things apart is the service and the small things. Some examples - One day I noticed my safe was open, I thought it may have been me and didn't report it. On the same day it took a while for my tea to arrive at breakfast, again I didn't say anything. That evening, on return to my room, I had a note apologising and a fancy desert plate - Each time you go to the swimming pool you get cold face towels, water and suncream delivered to your lounger - When I asked about check-out time I was instantly offered a generous late check out to accomodate my 2am flight - The staff just seem to anticipate what you need! Food at breakfast was ok but food at Ziya was amazing and again the staff couldn't have been more attentive. One note. The hotel is connected to The Trident next door and you can walk inside between the two and also use their bigger pool. For some reason this wasn't mentioned by the staff. It is worth checking out The Trident to see how hectic it is compared to the calm of the Oberoi! I would love to come back!

I’m an avid world traveler and I don't think there is any hotel in the world that I like better. This exquisite hotel is lead by Mr. Anupam Dasgupta (GM) who goes above and beyond to personally make each guest feel at home. Mr. Dasgupta and his hotel staff provide exemplary service that is both personal and memorable without being intrusive. Oberoi Mumbai devotes tremendous attention to detail, thoughtfulness, and warmth that is unparalleled. Our corner suite was gorgeous with fresh cut flowers and a stunning ocean front view that was BREATHTAKING morning and night. The bed and sleep experience was excellent. Bathrooms were impeccable. The food was scrumptious! The hotel has great amenities and a wonderful spa and pool. Nestled in an ideal location for visiting old Mumbai and historical architecture. The Mandarin Orientals, Four Seasons, and Ritz Carlton’s of the world have a lot of catching up to do regarding service with a personal touch. The Oberoi Mumbai is simply The Best Luxury Hotel in the World! Can’t wait for my next stay! --

Arrived at the airport to be greeted by driver dressed in all whites. We were whisked to the hotel in a Mercedes s class, with cold towels and bottled water. So commenced our introduction to an India indulgence tour. We had a suite which afforded us access to the residents lounge, more of this later. Room was superb with fit out and amenities excellent. Staff have been exemplary and typify what is excellent service, faultless and gracious. Breakfast offering accommodates European, cold and Indian. No baemaries all hot food cooked to order and tastefully presented. The residents lounge if you are fortunate to use offers top shelf spirits from 7 to 9 each evening with ample canapés. This hotel is worthy of its 5 star rating in every way, difficult to fault. As a base one can stroll in to old mumbai and visit lots of historical architecture.
