We decided to stay at the Gran Melia Victoria initially as my husband had stayed there as a child and because of the great ratings from the TA family.......It was amazing, about a 30min walk to old Palma between the marina and port but an easy 5-7 euro taxi ride for four, just ask the concierge and it arrived almost immediately, no problems getting return taxi from ranks. The hotel was grand, marble reception with lots of bespoke furniture, check in was simple but made easier by a glass of cava! There was an indoor bar area but we walked out to the terrace where there was a second bar with cosy sofas and fabulous views of the marina and cathedral.Prices were a you would expect for a deluxe hotel but not crazy. When we booked (directly as TA found this was the best deal) we were offered a voucher of 20 euros/room/night off the restaurants and bars, you had to sign up to Melia rewards but that was easy and saved us 140 euros as a family of four. The rooms were well appointed , comfortable beds, perfect AC, tea and coffee, Clarins toiletries and a turn down service with chocolates and rose petals. The room was fully automated with everything controlled by a console on the bed side table. We paid extra for a balcony and side view of the bay ( the entry level rooms don't have balconies and are at the back of the hotel) but didn't really make the most of it, if you are someone who likes to sit and read in your room or enjoy a sundowner there then it is worth it... The pool area is superb with a full size 25M salt water pool....it is very deep in places so definitely watch the children, there is a lifeguard but he has other pool related duties. There is a bar and restaurant with service. There are plenty of loungers and I can't remember it being full but there are many loungers without shade and some in shade until lunch time. There were four under awnings which were the best, there are signs saying that you are not to reserve but people did..... I got down at 9am and 2 out of 3 days got one but the rest had been reserved by people who didn't turn up until later...grrrr!!! The thing which makes this glorious hotel even better is the staff who genuinely appear delighted to help you with smiles on their faces, we never received anything but exemplarily service....we plan to make this a yearly trip, I can't wait to return.

Excellent again as usual, 3rd time of visiting this hotel in the last 5 years. The staff are fabulous and I love what you have done to the reception area and lounge. Still keeping the 5 star classic luxury

I recently spent a week at the Melia Victoria with my mother. As usual the staff were all very helpful and friendly. A special thanks to the team serving breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxing and not at all stuffy. Rooms comfortable and clean with beautiful views. Good food. Thanks to everyone for another lovely week in Palma. We'll be back.

Large hotel that looks a little tired and fails on many levels. First off hadn't realized breakfast was not included and ended up having to go outside to eat as we were just not prepared to pay the high hotel food prices after having already paid so much for the room. Room was nice but rather tired and it was clean but smaller than expected. Outside the hotel, you have a party-zone with very young boys and girls grabbing you to buy a drink in their bars. Staff on the whole not too interested in chatting to us and everything you ask them is answered back with a question asking if we were Red carpet guests!?? Found the whole experience a lot less impressive and a lot more expensive than it could or should have been in my opinion.

This is the first time I've reviewed a hotel, not because I haven't stayed in loads but because I'm a bit lazy. In the case of the Melia Victoria I have made an exception. This is the loveliest hotel I have ever stayed. The service was amazing, the staff even treated us with a bottle of cava at breakfast for my husbands birthday. Was very sad to leave and will most definitely return :-)
