After having a scary stay upon my European arrival, spending 5 nights at the Inter Continental "Hotel Garnier", I made a huge splurge to have a final positive experience. The cost for Le Meurice was the equivalent of 1200 (Including all taxes, etc.) American dollars per night. I walked in off the street spontaneously because I would be returning to Paris on my return flight home. My current hotel was pre booked but I could cancel in time for my last 2 nights in Paris. The desk clerk was most gracious and I felt welcome right away. When I arrived for my stay 2 weeks later. I was again warmed by the sound of the desk clerk. He gave me a brief run down of the group staying there I might be noticing. I read somewhere that the other Dorchester hotel in Paris, Hotel Athenee, although wonderful, does not have the same hospitable feeling. Because my cell phone was not working the clerk came up to my room to get me through all the buttons to be pushed using the phone in the room. The decor is Louis 14th to the hilt and the sky is the limit. You need to dress for this even if it's casual tourist. My only disappointments.... their driver bringing me from the airport let me out of the car by the street curb rather than the hotel's drive through and... the wrinkle in the wall paper outside my door. I was so busy getting all that I could before flying home I think I missed much of what else the hotel had to offer. When I learned that the Michelien restaurant down stairs cannot be brought up to your room, I declined. On second thought, I realized that it's all the same kitchen and next time I will have room service. The white marble bathroom with a wide spray of water coming out of the tub and sunlight coming through the windows with no screens, (love the fresh air) is most likely a more heavenly experience than Marie Antoinette would have had during her reign. (She actually ascended to heaven or not, a few block from here.)

Every aspect of this hotel is excellent. Great location, wonderful staff, a lovely room and bathroom, (both bigger than average for luxury hotels in central Paris). Yes it is expensive, but worth it for a treat. Ate in the Dali restaurant which has a wow factor setting, only slight reservation is that the food, while very good, was not quite up to the standard of excellence I would have expected for the price.

We stayed for 2 nights in May for our 10th wedding anniversary, We were warmly welcomed on arrival, check in was a breeze then Marine showed us around the hotel and took us to our room, she also offered us the unpacking service which I declined as I had developed a system but out of pure intrigue I now wish I accepted. The room was quite large in general but more so by Paris standards, well appointed and had everything we could need, the bed and pillows are amazingly comfortable and they have the softest towels I have ever felt in my life, the bath is deep and long with its own tv discreetly in the wall and while I'm on the subject of TV's the one in the bedroom disappears behind a painting when you turn it off. We also found waiting for us 2 hand written welcome letters from different departments and a bottle of champagne and chocolates as the hotels toast to our marriage. We had tickets to the ballet and stopped in Bar 228 on our way, the service was impeccable and drinks a generous size but we did linger a little to long and our plan to walk to the theatre was now no longer an option so we asked the doorman to hail us a taxi he asked where we were going and when we told him he said "take the hotel car with our complements, I'll get the driver he is right inside" so we did. Housekeeping do an amazing job and have such attention to detail from laying out slippers and providing lavender spay for the pillows at turn down to coiling up charger cords and tying them with a ribbon and keeping the room spotlessly clean, they also seem to top up the mini bar at some point between cleaning and turn down. When with a heavy heart it came time to leave (I did adopt the mascot Pistache so we will always have him) we called the porter then made our way to the lobby and passed the porter on his way to our room before we even got to the lift, check out was as seamless as check in. It is easy to see why Le Meurice is a palace award hotel, yes it is a luxury indulgence but their attention to detail is that step above what I have come to expect from a 5 star hotel, the quality of the products and amenity's are second to none and the staff are warm, friendly and seem genuinely invested in the guests happiness. Don't forget to write on the ice mirror in the lobby!

One of the real best if the all town. Excellence is a value in the hotel Meurice and all here works smoothly. You will find ( real..) luxury and attentive staff with a personal touch without being intrusive at all. The gastronomy's part of the place is stunning and excellent value for the top quality provided. yoursOlli.

We had 3 nights in Paris and stayed here because of its location. The location and service were perfect. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. There are parts of the room that seemed tired and worn down (toilet paper holder falling off the wall, one sink wouldn't drain, stains in the marble around the toilet) but there is an old world charm about the hotel that made it easier to overlook the small issues. The concierge was very helpful for arranging dinners too.
