Trotamundos

Trotamundos

  • Portal Comercio 117-2nd floor
  • Plaza de Armas
  • tel:84 239 590
  • Cusco

With so many establishments in Cusco vying for the title of most eclectic or psychedelic, the décor at Trotamundos is refreshingly simplistic and tasteful. Olive toned walls are complemented by large wooden tables and benches, black and white photographs and an enormous fireplace. Perhaps the only thing amiss with their stylish atmosphere is the pop music playing at all times of the day. Located in the Plaza de Armas directly across from the Cathedral, there are hardly any other locales that can rival their view. Offering a large and varied menu of soups, salads, sandwiches and phenomenal deserts, this is one of few places in Cusco where you can whittle away the hours reading, people watching and enjoying a drink without feeling hassled or rushed. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Trotamundos doubles as an Internet café, and computers are available for use during their hours of operation.

Gonzi's

Gonzi's

  • Manchaypuito 177
  • San Isidro, Lima 27

This is small spot conveniently located near the intersection of Javier Prado and Camino Real Avenues, is a bit hidden at a relatively quiet street, but yet very near to the Lima Downtown-Miraflores-Barranco route that many young backpackers take often while in Lima. Gonzi's offers a "Menu Del Dia" for lunch, that is, several dishes (starters, main courses and desserts) to choose from; you can pick one of each, and you will also receive a tasty croissant and some homemade soft drink, like lemonade, emoliente (a local combination of herbs and spices), or chicha morada (soft drink made from purple corn), for example. All for a flat price. read more about Gonzi's
