Reviews for Beach Villas at Ko Olina
We just returned from a two-week holiday at the Beach Villas in Ko Olina, which we all absolutely LOVED. This was our first trip to Hawaii and there were seven of us - my husband and I, my parents and three kids ages 13, 11 and 6. We stayed in a three bedroom condo in the ocean tower with a pool and ocean view. We booked with Michael through Air BnB and our condo was exactly as pictured and included all features and amenities as promised. This is not a typical full service hotel - no valet to park your car or bring your bags to your room; no daily maid service to make your bed or bring you fresh towels; and no on site restaurant to dine out; if that is how you prefer to travel, this isn't the place for you. This is the first time we have travelled like this and all adults in our party agreed that this is a great way to travel. With the exception of food, our condo was FULLY stocked and included everything you needed and more. It was like being at home - dishwasher, full sized fridge with a freezer, microwave, oven and cooktop, wine fridge, cookware, laundry soap, beach towels, washer and dryer, TVs in every bedroom plus the main living room, plus a closet full of everything you needed for the beach such as chairs, sand toys, and more! They have really thought of everything. We arrived around midnight and we had someone there to greet us and give us a walkthrough of the resort and our condo, explaining how everything works, which was a wonderful personal touch. As noted in previous reviews, there are rules to follow however we never encountered any issues with parking or any of the others mentioned. The next morning we headed over to Safeway (just a short ride away) and stocked up on our food for the week. Our group enjoyed being able to eat homecooked meals and not having to rush out in the morning for breakfast or wait in long lineups for coffee or to go out to eat. There are also four community barbecues you can use. We used them a few times and never had to wait; it was actually a great way to meet other guests! If cooking isn't that appealing to you there are nearby restaurants, within walking distance, as well as others just a short drive into Kapolei. We also loved our lenai; sliding glass doors open up the full width of the condo to access them so they are an extension of the main living area. As previous reviewers mentioned, they aren't that private as they are wide open and many, like ours, face towards each other. However we found many of the units weren't occupied while we were there so the lack of privacy wasn't a huge concern. In fact the villa never appeared to feel crowded; the kids pool is in a lagoon shape so the lounge chairs are staggered throughout with shrubbery that offers some privacy. The kids pool, while beautiful and with a depth of 3 feet in most places, is not heated so FREEZING at times. This didn't slow my kids down though and there are two hot tubs to help take the chill off when needed. The lagoon, which is just steps away from the pool, is ideal for kids as well as rock breakwalls help keep it relatively calm. This beach too was rarely crowded. Ko Olina is actually a master-planned resort community comprised of residential homes, hotels (Disney's Alunai, Four Seasons, Marriott), the Beach Villas, a golf course as well as some commercial services (ie. shops, restaurants,) that all cater to the visiting tourists. It's a gated community so it feels very safe. The three hotels and the Beach Villas are all located next to each other, along the ocean, and next to a lagoon (there are four lagoons all together). A well-maintained walking path runs the full length of the resorts so you can see what other properties are like and their accompanying lagoons. The Beach Villas was the quietest and with the least amount of people, however I suspect that will change when they finally build the last two hotels on the adjacent properties. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Beach Villas and would definitely return.

The condo was exactly as pictured. Beautiful views, comfortable, well supplied. Quiet atmosphere. The resort was also beautiful and well maintained. Loved watching the little kids feed the koi every morning.Daniel and his staff were great to work with. I highly recommend both this unit and the Beach Villas.

We loved not being in a big hotel but we had all the amenities except a restaurant. There was a beach bar. The pools and grounds were beautiful and backed up to the ocean and beaches. The workout room was the best equipped that we have ever had in a rental or hotel. We loved the flexibility of making a meal or not. The shopping for Food and liquor was easily available. The only drawback was all the balconies opened to an open court yard and provided little privacy.

The lagoon right out front is perfect for small kids and families. Safe without any real waves, beaches to play on and beautiful sunsets. The “kids pool” is awesome and salt water but not heated. I just tell my kids to be tough because I grew up on a lake that was a lot colder and we just toughed it out all day! Keeping kids at the big pool allows them to be loud and have a blast. The “quiet pool” is heated so it attracts littles but then it gets a bit loud and it’s no exactly relaxing to the people who want a kid free zone. If your kids can be quiet when there, please don’t let them stay. My kids have to go elsewhere if they can’t be quiet and that’s how it should be. Though I don’t understand why they heat the “quiet and lap pool” not the “kids pool” Still it’s a beautiful place it’s always immaculate and everyone is very nice. It’s a good location with an ABC store, coffee shop and ice cream shop with some Resort shopping within a two block walk. There are a few restaurants nearby as well but mostly we make our own food at the condo. I have stayed at Aulani and others but they are crazy crowded and I always come back to the condos here. There are also snorkel and dive tours that leave from the Ko’Olina marina just two blocks down as well.
We loved our stay....it was perfect for our family of 6.. Grandparents..Son @ Daughter in law and 2 grandchildren ages 11 And 8. Oahu is a busy but fun place to visit and after some day trips to Honolulu...the North Shore or exploring the island in our rental car it was so nice to come back to our beautiful villa in a quiet part of the island. The lagoons and pools were enjoyed whenever we were "home" and we loved snorkeling and seeing all the colorful fish and even sea turtles right in front of our hotel. We booked with Joan and Ron and they could not have been nicer or more helpful. If we were to return we would certainly be happy with another stay at the beach villas.
