We had a great experience during our anniversary trip to Paradise Point. At check in, Juliann asked if we were there for any special event. When I mentioned a 22nd wedding anniversary, she provided a free room upgrade right on the beach. A few minutes after we got to the room, she sent firewood and a Smores package to use in the outdoor fire pit. This was such a thoughtful thing to do. Thanks Juliana for making our anniversary even better.

This is a beautiful resort. The grounds and rooms were immaculate. My stay was for business purposes, which prevented it from being relaxing. I would definitely recommend this resort for rest and relaxation, and vacation. The front desk associate on the day of my arrival was friendly, courteous and very helpful.

First, I want to say that over the years we have stayed here many times. It's beautiful and the staff are great. However, this last stay left a couple things to be desired. I called the front desk at 11pm to report a problem with the room next door. The room was undoubtedly vacant, but weirdly, the TV was left on looping on a piece of music that played the same few stanzas over and over again from the time of our check in till the time of our check out. It didn't really bother me till I tried to sleep - the TV in the next room shared a wall with the head of my bed. When I called, they said that they would take care of it but they never did. The second thing is that the water didn't get hot for my shower the next day. Not icy cold but not even luke warm. I reported both of these things upon check out but I wonder if the music is still looping...

First of all, the employees were all very, very nice and accommodating. However, the resort just felt outdated and the rooms followed suit. Great location if you want to stay on the hotel property and take in the beach or maybe walk to Sea World. However, it was very expensive to get into San Diego and back, so not the best if you want to explore more of what San Diego has to offer.

Let me preface this by saying I travel a lot for work, so I have seen it all when it comes to hotels, thus I don't have unnecessarily high standards: clean, safe, comfy bed, and well-maintained. So when I checked in this evening, I was absolutely shocked at the condition of this room. Based on other reviews, I knew to expect the non-renovated rooms would be dated. But I usually take those kind of reviews with a grain of salt, as some folks can be pretty nit-picky. Well, in this case, believe the negative reviews. There are some pros: the room is very spacious, and a beach-front patio is a surprising feature. Even the little wet bar off to the side is nice. However, the charm of this room is negated by the cracked walls and bathtub (which they have half-heartedly tried to hide with sad patching/painting), the peeling baseboards, the dirty and ill-fitting light sockets and switches, and general disrepair of the room. To say that it has seen better days is an understatement. Adding new furniture and flooring is like trying to put a band aid on a gunshot wound. IMHO, I would not make these "resort" rooms available to guests unless and until the renovations are done; they do a complete disservice to Paradise Point, which I hear is quite lovely, if you're lucky enough to get one of the renovated rooms. As it stands, I have already called the front desk to request a room switch, but there is none available. I have been instructed to call back tomorrow morning to see if any become available - wish me luck and, take my advice, only book this resort if they can guarantee you get one of the better rooms.
