Travel: Sales Executive - NYC

Summary of Position

Luxury Link the leading Luxury Travel website is looking for a dynamic, savvy Media Sales Professional to join our New York team.  This role reports to the SVP of Travel Partnerships and will be responsible for the selling of online contextual advertising direct to the luxury hospitality industry. 

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in online, traditional media sales and/or concept sales.  Responsibilities include meeting target revenue goals in the defined region.  We're looking for an energetic self-starter with a consultative sales approach who is pro-active in driving revenue. You must be results-driven, have strong analytical skills and be committed to creating new business opportunities. You will be accountable for sales of 1year online marketing solution involving integrated sponsorships, referral traffic and incremental sales for new partners through customer prospecting and building strong relationships. The Sales Professional is expected to understand and be able to articulate the overall business objectives of the Luxury Link sales organization and the Luxury Link value proposition to the hospitality community.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and penetrate hotel, resort, cruise and tour organizations to obtain branded advertising dollars.
  • Successfully close accounts in excess of 75 annually.
  • Manage a business exceeding $750,000 dollars yearly-recognized revenue.
  • Actively manage a defined territor.
  • Create persuasive sales presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel detailing market trends and case studie.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years sales experience is strongly preferred.
  • Consultative sales professional who can produce in a dynamic, highly visible environment.
  • Online and/or traditional media sales.
  • Results oriented, accountable, strong work ethic, team player.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

Additional Skills

Languages; preferably French or Italian

Front End Web Developer

The Position

Luxury Link is seeking a fulltime or contract to hire Web Developer possessing a strong working knowledge of AJAX/Web 2.0 technologies with PHP experience.  The candidate must be up to date with latest web 2.0 technologies adhering to W3C standards compliant HTML and CSS best practices for browser compatibility.  The candidate must be capable of translating wireframes, product requirement documents and creative briefs into robust front end presentation layer user interfaces.  The ideal candidate collaborates well with others and thrives in a fast pace, deadline driven environment and is willing to be held accountable.

Primary Responsibilities

  • 75% Presentation layer / Front End, HTML/CSS, Javascript/AJAX and 25% PHP/Smarty.
  • Understanding of browser capabilities and design constraints, with expertise in developing and testing across multiple browsers & platforms i.e. Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari.
  • Strong familiarity with web standards and accessibility.
  • Optimize pages for both SEO and load time.
  • Solid understanding of email best-practices (ensure compliance with web-mail and all desktop applications).
  • Develop user interfaces for Luxury Link’s Internet/Intranet Web Application.
  • Work on day to day bug fixes/enhancements in addition to working on long term projects.
  • Work with project manager and other team members.
  • Ensure coding is modular, thoroughly tested, and provides reliable operation.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3-5+ years paid work experience with JavaScript, Ajax and browser issues.
  • Ajax Web 2.0 expertise.
  • Should have strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, DHTML, XML, etc.
  • 2+ years of professional experience developing PHP and database driven applications.
  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices.
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Must possess the ability to meet deadlines and manage tasks in an efficient manner.
  • Attention to detail.

Lead Merchandiser

The LuxuryLink team is looking for an enthusiastic, creative site merchandiser.  This role will lead a team running a new website we’re launching in the travel space.  Duties include working with our outside partners and maintaining those relationships, planning and scheduling content across the site, analyzing metrics, and reporting on performance.  Additionally, the merchandiser will set the site’s voice and feel, create thorough and authoritative detail pages, and ensure any other information that customers may need in order to make a purchasing decision is there and weighted correctly on the page.  In sum, the role will be responsible for maximizing sales.

The successful candidate will be extremely well-rounded.  You must combine world class online merchandising techniques, strong leadership abilities, exec-level communication across companies, an ability to identify and create compelling product information, analytical excellence, a great sense for UX, and top notch project management skills.  It’s a new business, which means you must be ready to deal with ambiguity and rapidly-changing priorities. Besides having first-class written and verbal communication skills, this site merchandiser will be able to prioritize well in order to meet deadlines and be able to see and show results with data. Technical requirements include basic HTML, advanced Excel, plus the ability to learn our in-house tools quickly.  The ideal candidate will have at least two years experience with online merchandising or Web publishing, and will be passionate about travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team in running a soon-to-be-launched website
  • Analyze consumer data and optimize the site’s merchandising - and demonstrate performance, identify new opportunities, and prioritize plans to grow the business.
  • Plan all merchandising for the site including voice, copy, themes, and new ways to entice consumers with our travel offerings
  • Understand strong copy that drives online conversion and is optimized for SEO

 

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years experience in building content online
  • Keen understanding of online retailing, especially the travel business
  • Smart and gets things done.  
  • Ability to use data to identify opportunities and command resources to execute.  Excellent with data.
