That is great. Those three are very popular charter aircraft. They all have great cabins and are quite versatile. We use those aircraft frequently on charters. If anyone is interested in trying out charter check out Peachtree Aviation. I'm surprised I haven't found a blog post about the many benefits of private air travel.

Unfortunately Nancy Taylor never responded back to an email I sent to her nor did the Agua Resort. In the email I was looking for some sort of explanation or any assurance that LL would not do business with this property going forward. If you read reviews on Trip Advisor, they're all consistent with my experience, so it is not an isolated issue. I guess in the future, buyer beware, I will be more carful of who I do business with. Thank you for asking though, it seems that you and the other VIP members have been more responsive and supportive, than LL or the actual resort ! I appreciate that from everyone. Thank you !

your review mirrors the typical serfvice situation in many properties in DR. I am truly surprised and saddened to see it in such an upscale resort and LL offering. I have had similar problems with Wyndham resorts there--so much so that after continuing to pursue the issues once stateside, got a partial refund on our stay. I made sure tripadvisor got the initial review to warn others. They have some fabulous beaches on DR and roads to match--unfortunately--they have rocky beaches and horrible roads in excess, and now, more poorly serviced/managed resorts to add to the negative list. The biggest problem which I have seen first-hand with the airline, is that with the rapid growth of tourism, staff training is not adequate and leads to great malfunctions. This is evident at hotels, resorts, and other tourism business. I hope you get satisfaction with your complaints--good luck.

enewseven...I did a bit of checking myself...the recent reviews posted on tripadvisor seem to mirror your observations. Sounds like trouble in paradise. LL needs to consider dropping this destination until they get their act together!

Clare, I wouldn't be worried because it is reviews like these and travel websites like LL which provide a place for feedback. Lets hope the word gets out and changes are made becuse if that happens, I belive that you will see the results when you get to the resort. The place as I mentioned is beautiful and peaceful but they are new and have to work out the many kinks that are there. Four months is a good enough amount of time to fix the problems that are present there. Think positively and if you need to change the scenery walk left at the beach and about 100 yards away is The Sivory, the food was fine there !

Yes, I did much research and due dilligence on this resort before we booked, and although it is new, the reviews and articles were very positive. The place is beautiful but the attention to detail and hospitality were lacking in a big enough way for me to write this review.

I am REALLY sorry to hear about your unhappy visit to Agua because I have reservations there in April to celebrate my 30th wedding anniversay. (LL Auction) I can't even bring myself to tell my husband about your trip. Instead of looking forward to the trip-I have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. If I could back out of this I would. I hate to think I'm going to feel like this for four months.

YIKES...What a trip. I am so glad you wrote because we mostly see great posts about different luxury properties. To me, luxury doesn't necessary mean a good place to stay. Just out of curiosity, had you read anymore about this property on different web sites or magazine articles?

I appreciate you sharing it with us as I value the input from the community and take into serious consideration the "reports" from the field when I'm considering a specific location. I am going to assume that LL will be removing this property from their offerings.

enewseven......we have two friends who are avid golfers and recently returned from an almost equally miserable long golfing weekend at an upscale resort in the Dominican Republic (sorry I cant recall the name). It seemed no matter which way they turned or what they attempted to do, they were stymied by staff incompetence and absurd high prices and fees.

Sounds like a case of the rapid development of resort properties have vastly taxed their hospitality training and execution.

Maybe LL will intercede on your behalf for some type of compensation.

Sorry to hear about your downright awful misadventures at the Aqua Resort in the Dominican Republic. Frankly, since you bought the "luxury" package here on LL and it fell way short of the standards one expects, I think that LL should reimburse all or part of your accommodation costs. After all, their reputation as a "luxury travel sales site" is at stake and so is the goodwill of people like yourself who buy travel packages from LL on the assumption that the properties offered here are indeed "luxurious", "high-end", and "top-of-the-line". It's obvious that's not what you got at Punta Cana!

My suggestion: contact Nancy Taylor directly by phone at the LL Head Office (number is listed on this website) and tell her what you went through at the Aqua Resort and ask for reimbursement. I've heard about other LL Contributors, who've run into similar bad surprises at other LL properties, getting all or some of their money back from LL.

Ouch! Sorry to hear about your horrid experience. I wonder if LL will reconsider having this hotel in their portofolio.

The Dominican Republic is just about the only island I have not visited in the Caribbean....after your review (and hearing other negative reviews about other places in the DR, from friends and family) I don't intend to add it to my must visit list.

Jade Mountain on St. Lucia sounds like the perfect honeymoon retreat. And, the huge Sun Suite with its own pool and a rooftop hot tub must have been fabulous for a newlywed couple to enjoy. What a great way to start a marriage. Congratulations to both of you!
