The Topnotch Resort and Spa at Stowe, VT
Recently, we spent 5 nights (with two LL packages) at our favorite Resort in Stowe, Vermont during "stick season", as Vermonters call the time between leaf season and ski season.

The hotel itself is a converted 16th century former Spanish colonial residence

Or guides that really speak to upscale luxury experience I want my vacation to be. Most travel guides I've found are general-purpose, and they don't give any local knowledge, just generic overviews. Maybe because local trends change so quickly and it's hard to publish and update on a frequent schedule, but most guides just aren't written to uncover local experiences
