Just returned from our 13th visit to Anguilla. The island is really developing. If you are looking for a get away before it becomes too "congested", go now! Some of the projects that are moving along are:
1. Tenemos: Tenemos is a villa resort. The resort is spread around a beautiful golfcourse. The location is close to Cap Juluca and Cuisinart. Some of the villas are almost finished. Not sure whenit will be finished. The golf course is beautiful andmost of the flowering plants make it look as if it has been there for awhile. There werefew golfers playing (Iguess due to the 90 degree heat!) The greens fees range from$200-$400 depending on season and other things. (ask and they will tell you!)The restaurant on the property isZurra's.It is owned and operated by Melinda and BobBlanchards. (the same who own and operate Blanchard's on Meads Bay.) I loved this place! Homemade chips with blue cheese dip start the lunch meal. Each entree receives two sides. (I had the black forest ham and my husband had the mahi-mahi.) A server comes around with a baking sheet offresh baked cookies! Friends went there for dinner and had a wonderful time also. The prices are very in linewith the rest of the restaurants in Anguilla. The views are overthe golf course to the ocean with a glimpse of the villas.
2. Viceroy..WOW. Supposedly, the place is 85%sold. Viceroy consists of villas and aresort. (note: neither are there yet!) This resort is on the other side of the island on Meads and Barnes Bay. Viceroy is doingit right...they will have tennis courts, a restaurant on the bluff, and a few swimming pools. The sales people are quite nice and actually invited us aboard their yacht to go snorkelling for the day. We had met some owners and they were extremely happy with the service they were receiving. Viceroy really seems to take care of their clients.
3. Elvis's beach bar. Elvis has opened up a great beach bar right on the beach in Sandy Ground. Great music with different selections on different nights of the week. You can find the amazing Elvis behind the bar doing an even amazing job. Food is cooked on the steel drum grill. The bar is in a boat on the beach. Cool surroundings!
4. Veya Restaurant: On the way to Sandy Ground. Very upscale. Rave reviews. (seemed a little pricey but everyone enjoyed their meal.)
Anguilla is a beautiful island. Best to enjoy now!!! CHEERS!(check out the crowds!!!)
