Just returned from a wonderful getaway to Virgin Gorda in the BVIs. The water was perfect. We dodged a few hurricanes. We didn't have one drop of rain. Not many tourists "on island" at this time of the year. We did a day trip to Jost Van Dyke, the infamous Willy T, the Indians and the Caves for snorkeling. We stopped along the way and picked up guests at Scrub Island. Scrub has been a LL property for a little time. It is now owned by Marriott. It is a lovely location with a few beaches, pool, and a few restaurants. I was surprised at the amount of guests there off season but it sounded like many had received packages. (no one from LL though!)
We were quite surprised at the number of travelers through San Juan airport. The place was packed, mid-week and the weekend. I guess a lot more tourists are looking at the Caribbean off season.
