Almost two years since visiting southern Chile and Argentina and this time we’re focusing on different geographic areas for certain.

The longest stay (seven nights) would be at The Cliffs Preserve….a more or less “long shot,” since there is very little information available, at least over the Internet. Just a few "professional" reviews and they were probably free.

We paid our own way….so we’re not indebted to anyone.

A favorite place for us to visit in southern Maine, before the summer hoards arrive, is Ogunquit.

To stroll along the 3+ miles of Ogunquit Beachhigh tidelow tideon or off shore breeze, it is one of lifes simple pleasures.

"So.can we go..pleeeze, pleeeze.can we walk the beach this afternoon?

After all, there are plenty of options for historic inns and bed & breakfasts located along the southern Maine coast, and especially in Kennebunk and Kennebunkport (even consider the Franciscan Guest Housewww.franciscanguesthouse.com[as in Franciscan Monks], just across the bridge over in Kennebunk Beach).No, better scratch the monks probably not our style.

Sunday, 2/21/10, our journey to Guatemala begins. Leave the house at 2am to drive to Newark International airport for the flight to Guatemala City. Finally arrive in Guate at 2pm in the afternoon - 1 night stay at the Howard Johnson's in Zona 9 Guatemala city - free shuttle from airport and breakfast included - not bad for $56 a night when you just need a 1 night stay in Guate City.
