I used to think of Los Cabos/Baja California either in terms of avid sports fishing (which I don't do) or hordes of spring break students partying on the beach. Now that I've finally been there I know that there is so much more to see and do than those stereotypes suggest. We stayed at the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar, well situated on the Corridor between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. We really liked the way the rooms were situated--sort of like clusters of "bungalows" with great views of the ocean and a generous sized balcony.

A litany of activities were available both onsite and off. We would have loved to explore the depths via snorkeling equipment had we been staying for more than a few days. We contented ourselves with a half-day boat excursion from Cabo San Lucas' marina and an afternoon in charming, artsy San Jose del Cabo. But we know that if (when) we come back it will be more than just lounging at the palapa bar. Although we want our fair share of THAT, too!
