I needed to get away, and purchased a last-minute, five-day vacation experience at Red Mountain Resort in St. George, Utah. Oh my, what a treat this was!

Upon arrival at the St George airport, we were greeted with a huge smile, a cool, scented cloth and a bottle of water. I had landed in heaven. After a short drive to the property, I checked-in and got a golf-cart ride to my villa.

My villa had two entrances, two bathrooms, a huge bedroom & living room, and is located in the "time share" section of the resort. In addition to having access to all resort amenities, there's also a pool and hot tub for villa guests only. And another bonus: a washer and dryer, available free of charge, again for villa guests only. Heaven!

I started each day with a guided hike. Different guides and locations each day, as well as different levels of intensity. With each step, I felt the stress from my daily life melting away. And then there are so many activities to choose from, most included in your package price. I tried the "melting" classes (highly recommended), stretching, yoga, pilates... there is something for everyone. And if you want to venture out on your own, bikes are available for use.



After a full day of activities, don't forget to stop by the spa! I had the most amazing body scrub and mani-pedi, and added a last-minute massage as well. Did I tell you yet I was in Heaven?

Meals are another great plus. Breakfast & lunch are a buffet, with a huge selection of healthy choices. Dinner is served by a very friendly staff, and you have another great menu selection. I suggest you sign up for the $30/day gratuity (when you check in), that way you don't have to worry about who to tip and how much. This does not include any spa or wine services you may purchase.

I made wonderful friends at the resort, and we are planning our next trip to Red Mountain in 2013. When I arrived back home, my friends told me I was "glowing" - of course I was, I just returned from Heaven.
