Eating On Early Flights...

Caught the first flight out this AM.only a short hop to TPA and then changed to a flight to BNAjust noticed the slightly obese couple (Im being kind because its early) seated across the aisle and one row forward.digging into the Taco Bell bag they brought aboard.

Does TB offer a breakfast menu? Maybe.I never head south of the TB Border to indulge in true Mexican Cuisine.

Possibly this is a bag of scraps left over from their watching last nights Monday Night Football game between the FINS & JETS? Good gameno, correction... a GREAT game.we were sitting in the stands until the last touchdown.

It was painful trying to get out bed and head for the airport this AM!

Back to the couple on the flight...hey have withdrawn something from the bag and it appears to be some sort of very large burrito or a small synthetic fireplace log.no its a burrito cause they ripped it in half and lettuce and gooey stuff is spilling out (no knives allowed on this flight and apparently TB doesnt offer splitting/sharing services on this particularly menu item...so you've got to take matters into your own hands, if you're planning to share).

WOWand they are also dipping their respective portions into a large order of refried beans (Holy Frijoles).

Some basic upper and lower GI recollections and reflectionsafter food matter leaves the oral cavity, passing through the esophagus, dumping into the upper and lower sections of the stomach and undergoing approximately two hours of powerful muscle contractions, then the resulting roughly processed food matter is subjected to an absorption process leading into the small..

got the pictureoh well, their consumption and digestion of this delectable breakfast adventure isnt really going to be a problem for me, since this leg of my trip is only 50 minutes and then I change planes.

Buen provecho amigos and hasta con gas!

Hey, omegaet, I agree with you. I can't believe what some people bring on flights to eat. At least you didn't have a long flight with these folks.

Oh My...guess you haven't flown with us! (only kidding!) I try to bring bagels, cereal, etc. But sometimes, I do have food for our destination such as corn, tomatoes, zucchini, etc. However, I don't think I could have stomached watching this show.

Try a similar show on Cathay Pacific 5 hour flight. Now try not to squirm whilst the passenger next to you downs something indescribable, with the scent of his bare feet waft as accompaniment.

Always get interesting take aboard food on flights from latin america - weird smelling fried chicken stuff, etc. carried aboard in greasy paper sacks or in a box. When we came back from Mexico in May, there was this guy in the boarding line screaming at the ticket checker "where's my apple juice?" Everyone in line was wondering what the deal with apple juice was - he also had about 6 family members and a tantrum throwing kid with him - maybe apple juice stops the tantrums?

I almost always take along my own food on flights. These days, even though on longer flights many airlines offer the option of buying a selection of food items, I prefer to know exactly what I am going to have. I'm not very creative although I do some fellow passengers who bring along an entire picnic.

So, -O-, you're not taking issue with act of eating on flights as much as you are complaining about what the selection of food might be. Do I understand that correctly?

In my case, when I do take something on a flight to eat, I am sooooooo careful about cleaning the drop down tray before placing anything on it. I have dropped down some pretty disgusting examples of missed cleaning in the past.

I hate touching anything sticky that anyone has left behind.

I am certainly not opposed to eating or drinking on flights.

My commentarywas directed at "what" some people choose to bring aboard for their meal(s). Some foods are best eaten at home or in a well ventilated area...not an aircraft cabin, in close proximity of others.

I can only imagine what the other passengers must have suffered as the beans moved into the lower GI of the aforementioned twosome. I think the next leg was on to Vegas and I'm sure there was gasping for fresh Nevada air when the flight landed.

A couple of power bars and some water might have been a more considerate choice!

Hey, -O-, you make a very good point. I have to believe the other passengers suffered on the next leg of that flight.
