-O-, beautiful! what beach?

jsattapr2....just south of Ft. Lauderdale.

Didn't you bring puppy with you on the jog? I don't see the pup in the photo...PLEASE!

-O- and bonniejoy03, are dogs allowed on the beach in Fort Lauderdale? I have visited and stayed at hotels right across from the beach and I don't recall ever seeing a loose or leashed animal on the beach.

bonniejoy03 and jsattapr2...there are special areas on the beach for use by owner of leashed dogs....no unleased animals allowed....also, mandatory "pick up" rules strictly enforced. The City Fathers don't want a tourist to step in an accident and soil their toes!

Winter is behind us know and maybe so is the snow....

Winter is behind us as well.....so for mornings on the beach, thatmeans more on-shore breezes, more early humidity and more clouds obscuring the rising sun....

Some of our east coast beaches allow pups in the off season. Most are not allowed during the tourist season. BOOO. However, we just spent the day on the Chesapeake Bay and PRETENDED we were on the beach with the pup. She loved it! No stopping the pups in this area! AND...of course we picked up after her!!

So was the rider strangely encrusted or just rusted out? Where do you see things like this? Do you have a permit to carry (not your camera, but something with which to defend yourself)?

Now we're moving deeper into Hurricane Season....morning clouds are picking up and depositing moisture on shore after crossingthe Gulf Streamand morning and afternoon electrical activity is more frequent...could be an active year for the Atlantic and Gulf.

At last we're getting our first storm of the season......

hey, omegaet, did the storm get you?

Well, "Fay" was a busy storm down here in Florida...mostly a water event....but still a big mess for many who are having to deal with lingering flooding conditions...

hey, omegaet, I was watching the weather channel this morning and it looks like you have another storm headed to FL. Looks like you pegged the season with your 07-25-2008 posting!

......guess I need to cut the business trip short a day and head back to the hacinda to get the shutters locked down....more storms rolling up out of the Atlantic....love living in the tropics during Hurricane Season!

From the looks of the flight status board there are lots ofcancelled flights into and out of the Caribbean....pay attention tourists! I rode out a tropical storm in Jamaica one year simply because I wasn't able to change my return flight reservations....vacation resorts generally "suck" when the power goes out!

Noticed only three deadbodies were pulled out of the surf this past weekend....apparently those "Danger Rip Tides -- NO SWIMMING" signs aren't getting the job done for swimmers!

omegaet, are you presently or were you every involved in weather forecasting? You seemed to have had a pretty good idea of what to expect during this hurricane season, when you posted your remarks in late July.

OK, STORM GURU, are there any more hurricanes coming ashore in the US this season? You seem to stay on top of this area!

Now I think the Hurricane Season is finally run the course for 2008. It is officially safe to return to the islands until next season!

More vacant seats on the regular flights I take. Even see decent fares showing up again....probably won't last too long.
