Me: Hello, when we checked in earlier, the front desk person suggested we call if we have any questions, need anything or encounter any problems.
Guest Services: Yes Sir, how can we be of service?
Me: We love this property, we love our suite and the view of the Pacific Ocean is absolutely stunning!
Guest Services: Yes Sir, how can we be of service?
Me: This place is a little more high tech than hotels we often use. However, we've figured out how to use just about everything.
Guest Services: Yes Sir, how can we be of service?
Me: Well, I want to use this luxurious "chromatherapy" floating whirlpool Jacuzzi tub. I have located the hot and cold water taps but I can't find the spout. I don't want to cause a big mess if something is missing and I turn on the water.
Guest Services: Yes Sir, did you look directly above the Jacuzzi?
Me: Yes, I see what appears to be a fire sprinkler!
Guest Services: Yes Sir. That's actually a ceiling-mounted bath filler for the Jacuzzi. If you step away from the fixture and turn on the two taps, you should see a stream of water falling down into the Jacuzzi. Shall I send someone to assist?
Me: No, but please tell me I'm not the first person to ask this question and above all please don't share this call with anyone else during our stay. Thank you.
In the interest of full-disclosure, the above faux-pas occurred at Tower23 Hotel in Pacific Beach, San Diego. It was a fabulous stay and we loved every minute of it....especially after we were properly educated in the correct steps for filling our bath tub!
