Why I Keep A Towel In The Trunk

Almost all of the clients I meet in Miami, ask to have lunch or drinks at a restaurant in SoBe (Art Deco District of South Beach running from 5th to 15th Streets along Ocean Drive). I think these requests stem from the often filmed scenes appearing in so many feature films and television series.

I try to accommodate these requests by visiting Lummus Park and the adjacent beach stretching out into the Atlantic Ocean. Of course, we usually take a walk across the soft white powder (sand)!

I have visited a number of beautiful beaches in exotic destinations, but there is something special about having this view in my own backyard.

I'd probably have a large, soft brush--like the attendants at Orient Beach Bars (St. Martin). Of course, I wouldn't have anyone to do but me....

-O-, I know this beach and the surrounding area quite well.

It is directly across Ocean Drive from The Betsy Hotel which is home to BLT Steak House. I loved slicing into one of their Rib Eyes with a side of sautéed Hen of the Woods Mushrooms.

I'm not too enthralled with the out of control night life in the area after 11:00pm or so.

I try to be back in my vehicle and headed back to Key Largo before midnight.

This is a great South Florida beach for sure.

Not to outdo you, but we have some pretty nice beaches on the West Coast as well. Siesta Key was named Beach No. 1 by the Beach Doctor.

LL_Travelfan, just guessing.

There may be interests other than than the sand and water view attracting -O- and his clients to this area of beach in SoBe.

I have spent a couple of weekends on the same beach while attending the South Beach Wine & Food Festival.

ichris, nice shot. I'm thinking this is a southern CA beach shot at sunset. Pretty but likely the water is way too cold for me.
