Thanks for the timely tip. We wish we could participate, but once again, we are not flying till Jan. 4th when all of the promotions are over.
We did come through the Miami Admirals Club in October coming from Madrid. We used the Admirals Club for our connecting flight to Tampa, but were truly underwhelmed about that particular club. It was rather pedestrian, and very crowded. Perhaps the Admirals Clubs on the international side for flights out of Miami are more luxurious, but on the domestic side, it was hardly worth it. We had to fight for seats, the noise level was very high, and the bar area in the middle of the club was filled to the gills so that it was hard to get a class of wine to take to the seat. Most people there were men watching a football game ....

Both the of the Admirals Clubs in the North and South Terminals of MIA are average, while the Premium Lounge in Concourse E is a totally different experience (only catch is you need a full fare First of Biz ticket to gain entrance - I've only been in once).
For the most part, I find Admirals Clubs have demonstrated a greatly reduced level of services over the past several years.....IMO it's still (slightly) better than passing time in the regular terminal space.

O,
I agree with your assessment. Admirals Clubs have come down a notch, but the price hasn't...
Yes, it is still better than regular terminal space. We expect to use the Fort Worth Club and the LA club in January. We are flying first class, but were told, when I inquired, that we had no free access to the Clubs on the domestic portions. We got some Day Passes to the Clubs so we will see if they are any better than the Miami Clubs.
We have come across some excellent lounges run by The Lounge" in Europe which were quite posh with excellent atmosphere, food and drink.

Come on you two....make me feel better! We haven't used the AA Admiral's club. We will be flying from MIA to SCL. Which club will we have? Also, I believe the club has showers and drinks....any food? How is the lounge coming back from EZE? Hoping for a great experience!

bonniejoy03..likely you will be flying our of Terminal D....there is a large club there and a smaller club in the terminal as well. There are showers in both clubs....drinks (you pay or use coupons) and snacks (average).
When you arrive in SCL, you might want to use the Admirals Club on the lower level, if you are a transit passenger heading over to MDZ and have some time between flights.
The club in EZE was undergoing renovation when we last passed through. The temporary club was so small and crowded, we just turned around and walked to the Centurion Club, which has a dedicated room for Amex Platinum members and smaller room for Amex Centurion members.
Probably the EZE renovation is finished by now or by the time you travel....call them ask.
There's nothing wrong with American's Admirals Clubs, they just don't compare to some lounges operated by some of our domestic carrier and most foreign carriers. We recent enjoyed the TAP Premium Lounge in Lisbon, while waiting for our flight back to MIA....it was nice, no charge for drinks or foods and the attention to service was excellent.
It really depends on why you even go to a lounge. We first of all, just want some degree of peace and quite....clean bathroom (a shower, if we're transit passengers and have been flying overnight), maybe a drink, easy access to the Internet and least of all the food.

The United/Continental clubs still give free beer and wine and IMO the United clubs have better free snacks. I was not impressed with the AA club in MIA at all.
Looks like many of the Latin America VIP lounges do not honor AA business or 1st class ticket holders anymore - they did not in CR and I looked up the international airport in Nicaragua and they do not either - glad I am going to Nica on United. Maybe it is the AA situation?Roam if you want to, roam around the world...........
