Re: Air Fare Savings (YAPTA)
I have to add my trips that I want to use frequent flier points. Has anyone had luck with tracking trips that you are trying to use ff points? I heard this was a new option but haven't tried it. I have been so frustrated with using points though. I used points for my trip to Virgin Gorda (to San JUan actually) and thought about changing dates. The dates were available for a free trip but now it will cost!!! One person told me $100 and one person told me $150!! That is too high. Oh well.......
Re: Air Fare Savings (YAPTA)
...although we're not"hard core"into on-line social networking communities.....we have linked our YAPTA and our Twitter accounts, which immediately notifies our Blackberry.....we justreceived our first "Tweet" announcing an air fare reduction:

Hi Omegaet,
Yapta is now making its airfare alerts available via Twitter - the popular messaging utility for staying connected in real-time. Yapta users can opt-in to the Twitter feed by simply entering their Twitter user name on the "Yapta Settings" page. From that point forward, any flight Yapta tracks on your behalf will generate a "tweet" (a Twitter message) if the price drops or if you become eligible for an airline travel credit. (Yapta's alerts will be delivered to "@Replies" on Twitter.) Of course, Yapta will also issue an email alert - as always.
Having the option to receive airfare alerts through Twitter will only enhance your ability to capture perishable savings. Airfare prices are highly volatile - so Twitter is a terrific way to get immediate pricing updates on specific flights, enabling you to act fast and get the best deal on airfare before the opportunity expires.

Re: Air Fare Savings (YAPTA)
....WOW, just received a Twitter notification from YAPTA one of my upcoming business trips dropped $114, which amounts to almost a 40% reduction in the original fare rate I booked.
Thanks, YAPTA!
Re: Air Fare Savings (YAPTA)
Obviously, YAPTA continues to expand their services and is now venturing into hotel rate tracking.....haven't done much in depth checking of the real savings involved in this aspect of their venture as yet.

Re: Air Fare Savings (YAPTA)
This tip for YAPTA is one of the reasons I enjoy participating in on line travel communities. I don't know how I would have otherwise learned of this unique service. I have never read about it in travel publications.
From the comments Isee in this thread by other members, it appears this is a valuable site for travelers such as myself.
Thank you.
