Any chance for separate Asia and Africa boards?

Hello,

I've only recently joined the LL community but contribute regularly to other online forums. Is there any chance that the 'Worldwide Destinations' section could be broken down a bit more into continents or regions (e.g. Africa, Asia, Australia/New Zealand)? Right now it's sort of a random jumble of everything from Mexico to Bali to Botswana which makes it hard to find posts which might be of interest. Most other travel forums have a more specific geographic breakdown which is really helpful.

Welcome! I agree 100% with your comment. Most of the United States (aside from Western U.S. and Hawaii) would fall under "Worldwide Destinations" also. I think they are just getting started with these boards and we'll see lots of improvements in the near future. Hopefully this will be one of them.

jashermd...I have seen three major changes with the LL site, since I have been a member. The threads in this newly formedcommunityappear to be well monitored by LL Moderators and my guess is we will see many of our "suggestion" and "problems" addressed during upcoming changes.

I would also welcome separate Asia and Africa forums. From my experience on other chat boards, Asia and Africa travelers tend to be a different breed than domestic travelers.

I really hope so! I was really glad when LL finally separated the auction listings for Asia and Africa. I love Bali as much as the next person (well, maybe not as much as die-hard beach fans) but wading through the Bali/Thailand auctions when looking for Africa auctions got to be a bit of a chore.

Yes, I am also a Fodor's junkie...so I recognize you from your Africa board fame there. I have even come across "you" on flickr, when searching for Africa accomodation photos.

Yes, I maintain the Fodors Safari Photo Album. I've been bad about it recently and there are lots of photos waiting to be posted, but hopefully I can get them up soon.

Actually, I *think* they are doing that very soon, having more destinations to have its own section. We'll see....

I think as soon as LL will allow us to post our own "blogs" we might have more control over which boards we would like to see, we should be able to start them on our own.
