Re: Auction Request
7...I'm curious as well....I hope they put a short fuse on the first few auctions (maybe 24 hours, rather than a few days). I would think they would want to measure the degree of "feeding frenzy" they can develop and the optimumtime frame for "no reserve" or "zero" auction. We may see them run several different tests to develop the data they want. I'll certainly take a run at it.enewseven wrote:
Hi O,
I saw that announcement as well, I'm curious to find out how long these offerings will go on for (3 days or 3 weeks?) . The no reserve auction can end up being a great deal for LL customers, and I would imagine really create a good word of mouth advertising program. Imagine winning a $5000 package for $1000, would be great !!!

Re: Auction Request
Hi VIPomega
Would love to see LL auctions starting at "zero"!!! Skyauction.com has had this feature for quite a while on most of its terrific auctions. Actually the minimum starting bid is $1 U.S! I've been successful on several of their auctions and a couple of times won an auction for $1 (e.g. a week's accomodation at a luxury hotel just outside Williamsburg)!!! You just have to be at the right place at the right time and hope nobody else is interested or available to travel at just that time.

Re: Auction Request
Hi VIPenew7Similar "no reserve" auctions run on skyaction.com for a week max, with some being available for only a few days. They usually have terrific offerings (e.g. week-long vacations at all-inclusive luxury resorts in the Caribbean with return air from major U.S. cities included). These junkets are usually worth thousands$ but often go to the winning bidder for a fraction of the real price! You're right, often the auction becomes a real feeding-frenzy with bids flying in at a furious pace. The good thing is that most of the increments are small, which still keeps the ultimate winning bid within reason. Ir'd be lots of fun to see something like that on LL.curtiejoe
