Ca' Sagredo
Just returned from Venice on a business trip (did not have time to take advantage of any LL auction deals). However, did manage to stop by Ca' Sagredo and have a drink with an associate who was staying there. Iwill certainly consider bidding on one of theCa'Sagredo offers as soon as I have Venice in my travel sights again. It is in an excellent location close to the Rialto; my associates suite overlooked the Grand Canal (a little noisy for my personal tastes, but a nice view in the evening with all of the lights and canal traffic). The common areas are lavishly decorated and the suite was efficiently and tastefully appointed. My associate, who can be quite critical at times, was most complementary of the service and attention of the staff. The bar has a nice deck, so if you choose to sit outside for a wine or cocktail, the people watching can be interesting. The auction offer for Ca' Sagredo, here on LL, is an absolute bargain, considering what my associate was paying per night.
IfVenice is in your upcoming travel plans, perhaps you should give some serious consideration to Ca' Sagredo.
One other item of possible interest is the upcoming opening of Palazzo Pauly, the private owners club, scheduled to open next summer.Joining the club may not hold interest, since initial membership fees run around $500,000, but the collection of Murano glass to be showcased in theprivate museum will be open to the public. I was told the museum is scheduled to open in June or July of 2008. This collection is said to exceed anything existing on Murano, plus you save the cost of the private water taxi.t-2-f

Re: Ca' Sagredo
imbues, thank you for reading my posting. There are several very active members of this community who probably haveenjoyed more leisuretravel to Italy, than have I. Most of my European travel is business related, although I do try to add in a day or two of tourism whenever possible. I do love Italy, the smaller towns and villages and the people are very special.
If you are planning a trip to Italy in the near future, you should start a thread and ask for some advice and input.
Maybe a direct chat option will be added to this community in the future.
Thank you.t-2-f

Re: Ca' Sagredo
Someone is going to score a fabulous deal on the RED HOT AUCTION offered today for the Ca' Sagredo Hotel in Florence. I was there last Fall although I was not a guest at the property, I did have an opportunity to see one of the suties and enjoyed the lovely deck and bar overlooking the Grand Canal. Please, someone in the community sweep in a steal this offer!
