cancelling a booking?
Can anyone tell me what the rules are regarding cancelling a trip you have purchased on here? In the UK the rules are usually that up until 8 weeks prior to your holiday, if you cancel then you lose your deposit, after thatyou start to lose more money untilusually 14 days before your due dat of travel you will lose 100% of the holiday(or pay the full amount if not already done so by this time). So how would one stand if they had to cancel one of their trips on here?
Cheers,
Mary-j

Re: cancelling a booking?
Hi mary-j, The rules are different for auctions (which I believe are generally non-refundable) than other types of purchases.
This page explains the rules:

Re: cancelling a booking?
Hi Disneygal,
Thanks for the link to the rules page. It actually looks like you only pay a $35 fee if you cancel before 15 days prior to your due stay. If I am reading that properly then that is OK. Has anyone cancelled their trip before and did they encounter any problems?
cheers,

Re: cancelling a booking?
Hi mary-j, I recently purchased a package "a la carte", and they did confirm the $35 fee and policy mentioned below. I was suprised that it is quite lenient. Previously I had only purchased auction packages, where the rules are very different.

Re: cancelling a booking?
Hi Disneygal,
Thanks for the link -- I'd assumed the 8-week policy was in effect and this is much more lenient. So far I've never canclled a trip from LL (and hope not to!) but it's always good to be prepared.
Cheers,
Julian
