Overall, a good trip....just been real busy since home with work things........quickly takes away that vacation buzz.

CP, still a beautiful setting....a couple minor disappointments - one, the nachos were pathetic!

I better stop, I don't want to hijack this thread.

I posted the original question and wanted to give everyone an update. After posting here I heard from LL who then got in touch with the villa provider. They proposed yet another villa that, upon closer review, I didn't judge to be equal in value to the one I'd originally purchased. Some additional back and forth and we've finally decided on a fifth villa. There is an upgrade fee for the fifth villa that LL agreed to split, making me happy with the result. Would I rent another villa through LL? I reserve final judgement until I get the final paperwork. But I truly appreciate LL covering half of the upgrade fee. Glad to hear that others have had easier experiences. Maybe just luck of the draw - I've had good experiences with my other purchases. Will let everyone know the final resolution and wish everyone happy travels!

Wow, who would have thought I'd have another villa issue. I talked my fiancee into bidding on, and winning, a 5 bedroom villa in Costa Rica. We send in the dates we want and get a "sorry, none of your dates available" so we send a second set of dates, but this time we get a "the property has decided not to honor the auction price, wants a higher price and you can either pay the higher price or we'll refund you." Excuse me?! Well gee, let me bid on something, win, decide I want to pay less and suck my money back. No? If I can't do that, why can the property change their mind? And to add insult to injury, the property is back on LL at the higher price! What is LL thinking? Has this happened to anyone else? Advice?

N....oh my goodness. I have never heard of this. This is crazy. CALL the concierge service asap. I cannot believe this. We haven't bid on any of the villas yet.

Have sent a query to LL team and await response. Just concerned that the villa folks will decide again that "nope, want more money" but this time we'll be stuck with airfares. The last problem we had with a property offered on LL the LL team really came through! LL is still the best site for packages and we're hoping that if we decide to pay the higher price now being demanded by the property, that LL assures the property doesn't renege again.

Last update from my original post. We drove up to the villa and our jaws dropped - FANTASTIC. Was it a lot of back and forth? Yes. Did it turn out worthwhile? Yes! Thank you very much LL for making such a fantastic week possible!
