For travel auctions, you can contact the hotel or resort
for which you would like to bid to see if the dates you desire to travel will be available.
All hotel contact information is available on their websites, which can be
accessed
from
the travel offer.
"Buy Now" offers (also known as "fixed price offers"), allow you to
specify your dates at the time of request.
A limited number of Fixed-Price Offers are offered on a "first come, first served" basis. Each Request to Purchase submitted to Luxury Link is electronically dated and time stamped at the time it was received. The purchaser will be contacted via telephone within one business day to finalize contact details and confirm travel arrangements.

I want to affirm that this approach does work. I found the couple of resorts that we e-mail prior to bidding on Luxury responded quickly and were able togive us dates that were available during at the resort for our time frame.Biras Creek even sent out a brochure for us after our inquiry.

We have also done as suggested and contacted the property prior to bidding. The trickiest thing I'verun intois actually finding decent airfare to match our schedule, but that's certainly nothing to do with the auction. We've purchased 4 or 5 trips through Luxury Link and have never had a problem getting the dates we want.
What ever happened to the auctions that included airfare? Those were a great idea.

It is usually a good idea to e-mail the hotel or speak to the reservations clerk before hand to get an idea if there is a problem with the dates you want. We tried to get reservations for a hotel in Switzerland during a specific time while we were attending a wedding in Switzerland. The hotel closed early for the season to do some repair work but they were very good about it and extended our voucher for a year. We used the voucher on a subsequent trip to Europe. So do check with the hotel prior to bidding to avoid surprises.

Last year my Husband and I wanted to go to Florence, Italy for 3 nights. I found the package I really wanted, but the dates expired about 3 weeks before we were to arrive. I e-mailed the Hotel and asked if they would honor the dates I needed for the Luxury Link Package. They e-mailed back that they would honor my dates and wished me luck on my bid. It is important to have a confirmation of your specific dates before bidding; also important to have a contact person at the Hotel so you can contact before arriving to make sure everything will meet your expectations.

It is always good to contact the hotel in advance and keep the name of the contact person at the hotel. We too had an experience where we wanted to auction two 3-day LL packages but he hotel did not allow Friday and Saturday stays. We wanted to use the two packages back to back which included a Friday night. After checking with the hotel in advance, they said they would make an exception and allow us to use the two packages back to back and we could go ahead and bid at the auctions.

Re: Choosing dates of stay ay Luxury Link hotels and resorts?
It would be great if auctions included airfare, but I suppose it would be difficult to have an open auction not knowing where the bidder's home airport was. I'd like to know how come I sometimes see an auction for a hotel with no added perks, then a few weeks later I see the same placeincluding meals, spa credits etc. in their auction. Is there any forwarning on this or do you just have to be patient and hope to get lucky?

Sometimes the "Buy Now" offers are different from the "Auction" offers. Basically, you just have to check and compare all offers that a particular property puts out.

I agree that it's sometimes tricky to arrange the flights when preparing to bid on a package. If you can use frequent flier miles for the flights, you can often put a hold on a flight while you bid (hopefully win!), and confirm the hotel dates. I'd also like to see more packages including air!
